Well done Jules you are an inspiration that it can be done.. I think it does help to have a support group but unfortunately we don't have anything like that here.

Thanks guys, it is hard work but I think it will be worth it in the end....Its keeping it off that's the problem......Sometimes I could do with a lovely steak and kidney pudding and mash, followed by ice cream :-S :-S

Good for you TS, I walk most days, but will join you in a virtual walk every day, I won't have the same views as you, but will imagine I do :-D

Well done Jules, just think how well you have done, that will hopefully give you the inspiration to carry on. I bet you feel so much better too? :-D

I got up early and went for a walk. I felt better after I got back than before I went that's for sure. I didn't go as far as I used to go as I will have to build up to that distance and speed again.

It's true what they say....use it or lose it. :-(

Well done fro starting your walks again TS, won't be long until you're back to doing your walk with no effort :-D

Just back from weigh in, lost 2lb, I'm pleased with that, if I could do that every week, by September, I'd be where I want to be. Next week I'll be walking much more, so hopefully another loss :-D

AnnCardiff Report 1 Jul 2013 21:29

2lb - well done - I'll have to start walking some more - a local lake, Roath Park lake, is apparently one mile around so I think I might drive down there in the evening and do a circuit - time myself and then see if I can beat the time on subsequent occasions - it's very pretty with lots of geese, swans and ducks so something to look at on the way around

Good work Lynda, how many weeks have you going to WW. After a short while your appetite decreases and you feel fuller quicker. I can't wait for that moment and although I am not very overweight I am so cross for putting on the weight that I have gained. I also know that the gain is due to lack of exercise, it does definitely makes a difference.

Kay???? Report 1 Jul 2013 22:31

If you do vigorious excerise remember that will build up muscle which is heavy,so any weigh ins will show as a gain over time.then you have to rely on measurements for loss.

good losses all round.

This was my first week TS, I'm at Slimming World, done the diet before, and it really does work, trouble is you stop going and the snacks start, so this time, I'll go regularly once I'm at target. :-D

Morning Ladies, and any men looking in :-D

I am wandering London today, so that'll be my exercise, only thing is I will be ending the day going to a buffet, will have to be careful, as I won't be eating what I'd usually eat, and no proper dinner today.

Have a good day everyone, and I hope your walk is easier today TS :-D

Afternoon Ladies :-)

Well done on all you losses. I have tried all the mainstream diet clubs and on line plans with such good intentions, lost and gained and spent a fortune over the last 30 odd years.

The push this time was a prolapsed disc and the pain that had been going on non stop for the last couple of years. I have started the Zoe Harcombe plan, this was hard for me to get my head round at first but..... I have lost 7lbs since the 4th June and not been hungry at all. I still have back pain but all the other joint pain has stopped and also the IBS.

I have another stone to go but my head is in the right place and I know that the good fairy wont wave a magic wand and make the weight disappear overnight. Only I can do that and it is for the long haul not a quick fix.

Good luck to everyone, I will pop in over the weekend when I weigh in

Teresa :-D

Hi Jules,

Just seen your post.

A pound is good. I have always been of the mind-set that the weight should drop off quickly. Keep with it. I know someone who lost 5 stone, It wasn't a quick process but the weight has kept off which is good :-D

Well done Jules, whatever a loss is, it's a loss, well done :-D

Hi Cooper, nice to see a new member :-D I think you are right about your head being in the right place, if it isn't you really do struggle. I haven't thought much about food, if I want to eat, there is always something healthy I can eat, and I love cooking, so I batch cook a lot, so when it's dinner time, if there isn't suitable to hand, I get if from the freezer, knowing that I cooked it, and what's in it.

What you say about feeling healthier, I reckon after a couple of weeks of eating a healthy diet, the results are amazing, you feel so much better, therefore you look it too. :-D

Have a good day everyone :-D

Hi Lynda and Ladies,

I work shifts but found the easiest thing to take is a tub of mixed salad and a bit of ham or chicken or egg. I'm not the keenest of cooks but quite like making curries and stews, things that cook themselves in the slow cooker or oven. I have invested in the spices needed so make the curries from scratch with very little need for oil etc. I got a curry recipe book from SW a couple of years ago which have some good veggie and meat versions in it
