Ruth is very popular due to This Morning and Loose Women and whatever else she is on!

It is turning into parody with her and Anton. His costumes are becoming more outrageous every week.

I just hope that a better dancer does not go before a less talented dancer.

Tabitha Report 6 Nov 2017 13:16

I think the other judges wanted Aston to stay and lose Mollie - but Shirley overruled 2 of them .

I thought he could have gone another few weeks.

Apart from Ruth, Susan and Mollie i think they will have a hard time after that.

I dont like Susan (because the only image i had of her was in that awful quiz show she was on - i hated her in that she was so rude & nasty)

I would love to see Joe and Jonnie go far and I think Gemma is a really good dancer, Debbie gives it her all - wish i was as fit as she is even when i was that fit i couldn't do half the things she can do.

Alexandra is good but cannot warm to her and i think the Eastenders chap can be good some times. Did I forget anyone?

Whereas I agree Aston has produced some good dances the judging is about the performance on the night. :-)

The Viennese Waltz just wasn't Aston's dance and as I previous said I don't think the choreography or costume helped :-(

In the dance off Mollie seemed to step up a gear and didn't make any obvious blunders but Aston danced as he had done earlier....not very well. :-)

So forgetting the previous weeks dances, I think Shirley made the right decision to vote for Mollie as I feel she did give the better performance on the night. :-D

Annx Report 6 Nov 2017 20:46

Yes, Mollie did a lovely dance and deserved to go forward but I think that choreography did it for Aston. He is so talented but there was nothing in the dance that showed off his talent at all and I thought it was a boring routine. What a shame, he looked so shocked and gutted I wanted to give him a hug!

Ruth doesn't seem to be making as much effort as the others and is relying on comedy and has said she wants to make Eamon extremely jealous. She was trying both this week, but to me just ended up looking inelegant, tacky and attention seeking.

I can't take to Susan or Alexandra either. Susan really goes for it and tries, but there's something missing for me and Alexandra is good but just seems a bit wild and fast.

Now the polite and hardworking Debbie is something else and perfects everything she does! I'm so glad to see her with some different hairstyles the last 2 weeks too, far more flattering I think. She is so appreciative that Strictly has put sparkle back in her life and Paul would be so proud of her.

I tend to agree with Annx, The viennese waltz, as it was coreographed on the night didn't showcase his strengths in dance but maybe that is because it is a delicate eligant waltz which shows off old fashioned ball gowns beautifully and Aston didn't glide. His strengths were more in the gymnastic and latin dances when he could show his fast moves.

I am not keen on Susan either, she seems to play it for laughs a lot of the time. And oh she does remind me of the crankies!! She does seem to be trying hard though and enjoying the experience.

I like Anton but he is starting to irritate a bit by milking the comedy aspect, and I don't really like Ruth, I think they should have been in the dance off instead of Molly last week.

Alexandra is OTT, she is a good dancer but is attention seeking in my opinion.

I do like Debbie, Joe and Davood, sometimes I like Jonnie, sometimes not, can't make my mind up but he certainly tries hard and doesn't seek to take advantage of his disability so I admire him for that.

I agree totally with Anninglos.the choreography was nothing like a Viennese waltz as I know it.
When it started I was thinking to myself that it was too far from the elegance of Vienna!
I know a lot of the dances these days don’t follow original styles,e.g.paso doble .,

I do think Anton is trying for the comedy as he is never lucky with a partner.

I would imagine that Alexandra will be good at the Argentine Tango.

Looks like some good music choices there.

MotownGal

MotownGal Report 8 Nov 2017 15:31

The three I cant warm to, will still not make me vote for them. Although as Tabitha and Ann says, good choices.

So Anton will be dressed with a fox tail this week?

MotownGal

MotownGal Report 10 Nov 2017 19:28

Last week in the studio before Blackpool.

It has to be Ruth surely.

Annx

Annx Report 10 Nov 2017 21:13

Not sure about Debbie and Giovanni's music being great for a salsa. It would seem a bit slow and more suited to a Rumba, but I may be wrong and be wowed!! lol. :-)

MotownGal

MotownGal Report 11 Nov 2017 20:26

Ooh now I am not so sure. Ruth still a bit ropey, but Jonnie and Mollie did not do so good either.

Can they also please stop all that malarkey up in the gallery. Especially when the 'lines are now open'.

Jeanette likes to be to the front of the camera don't she?

LondonBelle

LondonBelle Report 12 Nov 2017 07:35

I didn't see Debbie's Salsa but I expect it was excellent....or has she peaked too soon :-0

I love the Argentine Tango and I thought Alexandra made a very good job of it.... however, I just can't warm to her. :-0

Davood's Charleston was entertaining and because he is so strong out of the male celebs he has mastered the lifts too and his performances continue to surprise :-D

Although Susan doesn't have the stature of a dancer I thought her foot work was spot on and hers sense of drama that the Tango requires was just right :-D

Joe's Rumba was passable but I always think that the Rumba for any man always looks a bit false and is always difficult especially when they have to show such elegance with their arms :-D

That then leaves Mollie, Gemma, Jonnie & Ruth all very much of a muchness. I think it should be Ruth & Jonnie in the dance off with the Judges picking Ruth to go :-D

Tabitha

Tabitha Report 12 Nov 2017 07:51

Well its a bit iffy this week - Ruth - Mollie - Jonnie and possibly Gemma

Cant see Ruth getting away this week unless there is a lot of public support - she wasn't very good and all the judges had a whinge.

Dont know whats happened to Jonnie the last couple of weeks as he seems to be going downhill - such a shame.

Really pleased Joe is still going strong. Supporting him on facebook and Holby page.

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 12 Nov 2017 10:06

Ruth and Jonnie for me. I did like Davood's Charleston and Alexandra's Argentine Tango was very good. (As some say, somehow she is difficult to warm to). I also liked Debbie's Salsa but it was not as good as her Tango last week. I think it depends on who the public like/don't like and who they feel is underdog and need a boost who gets through and who doesn't. Not always down to how they danced.

LondonBelle

LondonBelle Report 13 Nov 2017 05:52

The right decision this week :-D

MotownGal

MotownGal Report 13 Nov 2017 08:01

I agree Belle, sadly Ruth had to go.

I fear it will be Jonnie next week though.

LondonBelle

LondonBelle Report 13 Nov 2017 10:07

Yes, I too think it will be Jonnie..... I'm wondering whether he is having problems with his stump as he looked very uncomfortable :-( <3

Pleased Mollie made it through..I like AJ ;-) :-D

Annx

Annx Report 13 Nov 2017 19:22

Hats off to Alexandra and the Argentine Tango! Such a change of character, she was so accurate and I loved her dress too. Can't take to her personality though.

I didn't think Debbie was quite as good this week, but another great hairdo that suited her!

I think it may be Jonnie, Gemma or Mollie next week.

Tess is beginning to annoy me. Every time there is a man doing a Rumba, the first thing she says as they finish their dance is how hard it is for a man and puts in your mind that it should be expected to be scored low! She says too much before the judges speak at other times too.

Yes MTG, I don't like all the malarkey either and some do try to be at the front as you say.

MotownGal

MotownGal Report 17 Nov 2017 13:11

Watching Takes Two this week. Zoe is sick and Gethin is standing in for her.

Jonnie was saying that the sprung floor at Blackpool was not conducive to his blade, so whether that will hamper his performance this week.

Apparently some of the contestants have extra dancers in their routines too, I hope it does not detract from the central characters.
