Personally I watch TV shows etc on my regular old laptop with a free app or whatever my kid put on which stops all ads no fast forward no payment, and no ads on any page I'm looking at for news etc.

"The downside of most budget laptops is that you get a crummy picture as few of them support HD, "

Good job mine isn't then :-)...and when I want to, it's easy to plug it into one of the more than big enough TVs that I have.

All I can say is the graphics with all of my computers are great; my son is a "computer snob" and plays with things; picture quality is great. Now if you're one of those people that spends time worrying whether you can actually see the nose hair of actors or not I don't know but "I know I can see more than clearly anything on any of the screens. Can't wait to see the Bodyguard sounds good. :-)

And we're back to the usual attempts at unnecessary insults !!

Of course you know more about the graphics on my computers than I do, can you move a little please you're casting a shadow over my screen. FYI my son is pretty good with all things computer-based probably why he won that full scholarship to Uni....cos they give those out all the time don't they.

Again can't wait to watch the Bodyguard

Changing the subject back to Scottish accents - I use to Love Taggart - Rebus - Take the High Road and few other Scottish programmes and had very little difficulty with the accent.

I just find the guy who plays David Budd has a very thick accent, mumbles a lot and is just a little difficult to get use to and not even good looking (to my way of thinking)

Give me Joe McFadden any day and i liked his accent and his acting and he was good to look at too.

As always Rollo a barrel of laughs, many on here like the show I'll give it a bash.

Just trying something.....Black....... :-)

Ignore him/her? Caroline, It's the only way to deal with folk who are such crashing bores they make strong men weep. Rollo certainly takes the top prize for that!!

Tabitha, if you are going to watch Line of Duty from the beginning, do watch very carefully. There are things mentioned in Series 1, that re-surface in Series 2 and 3. It is surprising how much you miss, and then realise what the significance is in a later series.

Very clever writing in my humble opinion. :-)

Caroline

Caroline Report 30 Aug 2018 18:22

So you'd recommend Line of Duty ?

MotownGal Report 30 Aug 2018 18:56

I really enjoyed Line of Duty, Caroline. We missed the first Series when it was shown, but caught up with it, and then carried on until Series 4.

They are trying to get all the cast together for Series 5, but some have gone onto other projects. So maybe next year.

There is a running theme of Balaclava Man in all 4 series. When the last series was shown, there was a thread on here about it, with people guessing who it was.

Thanks for the tip I'll try and watch it, think it's on Netflix.

I found Bodyguard really good. They first episode gripped me from the beginning.

Tabitha, I am going to give Line Of Duty a go. I've not seen it before, although I think OH may have seen some episodes.

Talking about "Keeping Faith"....
It's my second time of watching the series, and am seeing lots that I missed the first time around. I would say that it wouldn't bore me if I sat through it all again.
They are starting filming the second series in September according to the actress that plays baddie CID DS Morgan.

I don't know whether you know, but it was filmed first in Welsh and aired as "Un Bore Mercher" (One Wednesday Morning) Eve Myles who is not a Welsh speaker by first language still managed to act the part brilliantly! :-)

I think the 3rd episode of Bodyguard is going to be pitched against Vanity Fair. Thank goodness we can now decide when we want to watch something. Do like a corset buster drama.

By the way, picture on some newsfeed with the main characters of Line of Duty 5 together for the first time. They are starting to film, so maybe on screen next year. :-D

Started watching Line of Duty last night; it is on Netflix. Not bad so far....

I am looking forward to Line of Duty at the weekend - I dont subscribe to netflix - I know you can pay for it on Prime - but i dont want to buy it.

I loved Series 3 of Line of Duty and enjoyed series 4 - looking forward to series 5 when it arrives.

Thanks for the update i though i was missing some of the hints in Series 3 and 4.

I am going to watch episode 3 of Bodyguard and see if it grabs me - trouble is i dont want to stop and find out the last 3 were a lot better . I enjoy the plots and subplots of Line of duty and unforgotten. I didn't find anything like this on BG last 2 episodes.

Not sure about Vanity fair good cast (apart from one I wont discuss) she drives me potty - i like a good Jane Austen/Bronte/Cranford/larkrise/Dickens etc I have read most but not this one .

I watched line of duty too and enjoyed guessing who balaclava man was. Hope part 3 of the bodyguard continues to be as good and action packed. The shot with the van hurtling towards the school seemed terrifying as if you were there experiencing it.

Florence in the hebrides :-D

Rollo I have no objections to anyone adding to the thread but it is about Bodyguard and similar dramas. So comments about quality of laptops etc isn't really relevant is it?

I too am looking forward to the next episode of Bodyguard tonight.

There was some discussion in the papers about all the lead characters being women. I cant say it was something that particular struck me when watching the first two episodes.

What I will say about the main two characters.....You cant mix business with pleasure. :-D :-D

As I said before can't wait to catch Bodyguard when it's on over here.Watching line of duty and not sure how it makes the police look! Either Keystone cops or corrupt to the hilt either way not good.
