As you know, I have not been up to my usual, not very high, domestic standards for some time. Today, I have made pizza dough in the bread machine and it is just about to go in the pre-heated oven.

Hmf, that is, if I can find the cooker through the smoke!

I am hoping a lot of the cack was burned off today and I might even do the shelves tomorrow in my special tray I have specifically for soaking oven shelves but which is also handy for keeping potting plants in before you put them in the garden.

Quentin Crisp said: “There is no need to do any housework at all. After the first four years the dirt doesn't get any worse.”

I've tried to live by this manta, and I'm waiting for the gunk inside my oven to burn off :-D

Hey if it works for my neighbours and their BBQ's why not the oven!
Actually my self-cleaning just burns it off and yes lots of smoke, with me thinking all the time....but I didn't spill anything and everything was covered!!

How was the Pizza anyway?

Sharron Report 1 Nov 2018 10:35

It tasted of dirty oven! They ate it!

Caroline

Caroline Report 1 Nov 2018 11:30

I think you meant smokey....they charge a small fortune for authentic smokey taste in restaurants!

I have to have my oven sparkling
If it comes loose it goes in the dishwasher

and once a month I use Oven Pride on it :-D

Sharron

Sharron Report 2 Nov 2018 10:16

Wish I was like that.

Even when I haven't been mad I have never been that particular about my oven but I have never, ever had my bath get into the condition it was before I did the washing soda job on it.

Get to our age cleaning ovens or anything else is not important so long as you're happy that's what really counts! :-D

JoyBoroAngel

JoyBoroAngel Report 4 Nov 2018 15:27

everything that comes off is in the dishwasher
and the top sprayed with flash bleach and left for half an hour

Going to rub the top over with Kitchen roll and put the loose bits back together
and its done gleaming :-D :-D
