Stacey Dooley helps people find answers to life-changing questions using the power of DNA.

Episode 3....hoping it can only get better :-(

Looking forward to this, just hope it's not too soppy.

I'll watch too. The ads seem fine.

Like you, Ann, I am not too keen on her either ..... but I'll give the show a go.

Interesting, Rollo.

Such happenings must have been more numerous during wartime, don't you think?

**Ann**

**Ann** Report 2 Mar 2021 16:16

Am just reading a book....Wartime Britain...mainly about returning soldiers and their adjustment to civilian life after their demob.

Lots of personal stories relating to family relationships with spouses/children once the “boss” came home.

Marriages rocketed in 1939/40 and the divorce rate rocketed in 1946/47
:-0 :-0

Joy....my own grandfather came home in 1919 after 5 years abroad only to find his wife answering the door with another baby in her arms :-(

ITV are bringing back DNA Journey on the 10th. Last time it was Ant & Dec. This time it is Freddie Flintoff and Jamie Rednapp.

Well the jury is still out on last nights episode, I think maybe it would have had a different feel about it had there been no social distancing :-(

I’ve just re watched the beginning. Still questions in my mind about the man whose

test didn’t match that of the man who was pro ported to be his half brother. Given that

the test with his sister only showed her as a half sibling there’s still a lot of unknowns

for him.
To be honest I don’t think I’ll be watching any more.

JoyLouise

JoyLouise Report 3 Mar 2021 12:28

I'll give it a go and watch it over lunch now. :-)

MR_MAGOO

Enjoyed it but it didn’t really show how they arrived at the answer.

We are fine Ann thanks ??

Hmmmm I'm with Ann, the jury's out... wasn't as good as I was expecting :-(

Why do people volunteer to do this sort of programme? it was only the bearded chap whose story wasn't straight forward but at least they eventually worked out who the paternal family was.

ZZzzz

ZZzzz Report 3 Mar 2021 14:45

I'm still tearing my hair out trying to find my grandfather, family stories add up but not a DNA match yet :-(

I thought the programme was quite interesting, especially how they could tell the American Dad's ancestry to a particular part of Africa.

Apart from the DNA, there was quite a bit of emotion involved with the results.
The aspect of looking forward ( possibly being a carrier for a disease ) as well as looking back was good.

I'll watch further episodes with interest.
