It is worrying when you are taking steroids for a chronic condition and suggestions are being made that they could be a cause of blood clots linked to the AZ vaccine.

JoyLouise Report 12 Apr 2021 18:54

Here's a thought but I don't think I can put this better, however, I'm sure you'll get my gist.

Perhaps steroids 'are absorbed' by the body to counteract chronic conditions for which they'e been prescribed, whereas steroids taken simply to bulk up have nowhere to go and nothing to counteract?

One thing I forgot to mention about going for my second jab.

While my doctor did the first one he did not ask me whether I was on any medication as he would already have known.

On Saturday, the person who gave me my second jab did ask - but, surprisingly, after it had been done! I don't know whether that person had access to my medical report but it would appear not.

Joy...there will be millions like yourselves who will not give it a second thought, including my OH.

I would never try and dissuade him from going ahead....if it feels right for him. As I said before one size does not fit all, and if you have been damaged by drugs/prescribed medication etc it is for some people a huge step to take

It is, Ann, and I feel for those who just can't have a covid jab because of medical conditions. I think it makes it all the more imperative that those who can have it, do so.

I don't think any of my siblings thought twice about having it - even the sister and her OH who caught covid in December. We did not all have the same one either.

Can't find the 50 times quote right now and I'm cooking dinner :-)

I was prepared to have the Oxford jab but in the end the first chance I got for any jab I was offered the Moderna so I took it, but I do appreciate how scary it must be for so many for various reasons.

Thank you Caroline..interesting :-)

The US has now paused the Johnson & Johnson for the same reasons :-(

I saw that, Ann. It's in case of blood clots I believe. That got me wondering whether undiagnosed sticky blood syndrome had any part to play. It is sometimes only discovered during pregnancy and I had not heard of it until about 14 or 15 years ago.

Edit: I don't envy scientists. They have their work cut out at the moment trying to target possible causes and gradually rule them out one by one. I wonder whether a blood thinner such as dispersible aspirin (on a full stomach of course) for those not on blood thinners might be tested by them.

Good for you Maddie. We had to go to our surgery for ours an we've both been OK, thank goodness.

Unusual blood clots with a second vaccine - and intriguingly it uses the same 'viral vector' technology as the AstraZeneca shot.

It's far too soon to say there is a causal link with the Johnson & Johnson jab, but the US regulators have recommended a pause in its rollout as a precaution.

Almost seven million have been given the vaccine - and there have been six cases of a "rare and severe" form of blood clot.

The European regulators are also investigating cases.

Blood clots happen naturally, so the Food and Drug Administration will have to look carefully at the cases.

There is hypervigilance at the moment because of the concern over the use of the AstraZeneca vaccine in younger people.

Both vaccines use another virus to carry genetic material for the COVID spike protein into the body.

The Johnson & Johnson - also known as Janssen - vaccine isn't yet licensed in the UK, but 30 million doses are on order.

They've started vaccinating 45+ year-olds in our region - mentioned on this morning's news so one of my children ought to be on that list - the one who's had two positive antibodies tests yet has had no symptoms whatsoever.

I'm not sure what stage the rest of the nation is at.

We certainly can't belittle any fears over the vaccines as they are very real to the individuals involved.

Why are ‘they’ keeping quiet about the Pfizer deaths. It is claimed there has been 966 deaths split between Pfizer and Moderns

**Ann** Report 13 Apr 2021 18:40

Hysteria Rolo??

Died WITH Covid not OF Covid Rolo!

WW2...they really didn’t have a choice did they :-0

You can spout off the benefits outweigh the risks all day long....try telling that to someone who has lost a loved one after putting their faith in the Science.

Names...reports on yellow card re Pfizer...however not all adverse reactions will be reported :-(

Ann
When I said ‘they’ I meant the press and authorities from around the world.

You can’t fill in a yellow card or whichever colour each country uses if you are dead! (Edit: sorry if that touches a nerve)

Names....” however not all adverse reactions will be reported”

I did not want to put it too bluntly...but yes you are correct.

MSM...Have not been big on reporting negatives...especially the dreaded BBC. However as more Countries speak out they are unable to brush it under the carpet any longer.
