Found it Florence - and it’s very simple.

1 pastry case (bought or made - I think I made my own sweet pastry because that is the time I bought the baking beans for cooking the pastry case)

Large can evaporated milk

A bag of dark brown sugar (doesn’t give size but from memory I took it to mean the smaller 1 lb bag.

Whisk the sugar and evap together and put into pastry case. Bake for ten minutes on medium heat but keep an eye on the tart.

I capitalised the last seven words so I must have burnt (or at least overcooked it the first time around).

I also found a recipe for Tipsy Tart! :-D

Thankyou Jl, yes this is the recipe i have used awhile ago but maybe i didnt whisk it enough? Mine went sticky on top but underneath was still runny.

Shall have another go soon and keep whisking a lot longer.

i had thought i had left something out of the recipe thats why I asked if anyone else had it.

Thanks

Neighbour's son was down for a couple of days. He left school in 1976.

While he was still at school, they would frequent that cafe that Fred used to use and he remembered having a steak and kidney pudding with chips and the pudding had a mushroom on top.

So he has remembered that mushroom for at least forty-five years!
