celery Report 17 Nov 2011 20:13

A second or third cousin by the name of Elizabeth P from BC came to the UK in 2006 searching for long lost relatives of her great grandmother TERESA CHARLOTTE WILKINS nee DAVIS, born in Bromsgrove IN 1872 Wocestershire moved to Didsbury, Lancashire after marrying HENRY JOSHUA WILKINS DOB 1877. Marriage took place in Bucklow.

I be delighted if Eliz P from BC would reply as her great grandmother is my grandmother.

It would have been helpful to give an indication of the reason for reporting the post........whoever it was who did so............

celery Report 18 Nov 2011 09:35

Oh dear how does one explain oneself's mistake, and I made a mistake in pressing "report" in error. I did this myself and apologise for this. As far as I can say, I don't believe I have broken any rules ie as have not been abusive, vulgar in any way. It is not my nature to send anything like that.

I simply pressed "report " in error Celery

Lol - never mind :-D

You could either wait until it is re-instated, or re-post the request. If you start another thread, make sure this one is deleted when it reappears. ;-)

If I were you, celery, I'd delete this and start again

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 18 Nov 2011 10:31

Flick - not sure if the thread originator *can* delete once the opening post has been RR'd - but if Celery can try, at least we will all know for sure.

Flick Report 18 Nov 2011 10:49

Problem resolved, now that GR have re-instated the request

Message to celery..........

Not sure how you think this woman is going to see your post.................

You really must look in search trees for links on the site. IF she is a GR member who has the names in a GR tree, you can send her a message, by clicking on 'find out more'

Presumably BC means British Columbia?

And remove the 'answered' tag from my post, as it indicates on the board that your request is resolved.....which, clearly, it isn't

celery Report 18 Nov 2011 13:29

Thank you to everyone who have given me advice on my "REPORT" error. I certainly will not make that mistake again.

the lady who is my 2nd or 3rd cousin whose name is Elizabeth P from BC (British Columbia) posted a message through the internet posted this in 2006. I only found out during the summer and sent her an email which she left for a reply. It bounced. What does one expect !

I need advise how to remove the 'answered' tag from your post?
Apologies all round.

Flick

Flick Report 18 Nov 2011 13:42

Which site did Elizabeth use to make her post?

And have you checked 'search trees'?

celery

celery Report 18 Nov 2011 19:45

The person who gave me the information said it was from Google! I did a search but was unable to trace it and it was in the year 2006! As I said, there was an email address. As to the 2nd question, I have not been successful in checking the 'search trees' I will endeavour to keep trying

Thank you for your interest. celery :-)

Can you post Elizabeth P's message?

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 19 Nov 2011 09:18

Although it is unlikely to be Elizabeth P, there is a tree on Ancestry who's tree owner has a board name of anitawellard2204. Although the living people are private, she has

Leslie Arthur Wilkins
Birth 31 Dec 1902 in Didsbury, Lancashire, United Kingdom
Death 1997 in Parksville, British Columbia, Canada

Mary Winifred Swadling
Birth June1901 in Didsbury, Lancashire, United Kingdom
Death 1977 in Travelling to Reno, USA - but lived in Richmond, British Columbia, Canada

Leslie Arthur Wilkins being the child of Henry Joseph Wilkins and Teresa Charlotte Davis. It looks as if the 'Root' person is their grandchild. Could Elizabeth P be the root person's daughter? Although the account hasn't been active for over 6 months, have you tried to contact Anita?

celery Report 1 Dec 2011 13:05

As requested by Rose and the last msg from +++DetEtTive+++ is correct
dated 19 Nov re my father's brother

This msg was found in www.thisiswherearetheynow.co.uk link and says:-

"First, I really don't know what county to select so don't let my choice deter you! I am the gr granddaughter (in Canada) of Teresa Charlotte Davis and Henry Joshua Wilkins. I know that Teresa's birth was recorded in the quarter of March 1872 in Bromsgrove and her marriage was recorded in Bucklow in the quarter of December 1900. She remained in Manchester in Didsbury after the marriage. I am coming to the UK this fall and would like to meet any "long lost" relatives!! Please contact me if you recognise any of the names! Elizabeth. BC Canada.
Name Elizabeth P.

The email address at the time was [email protected] When tried to contact them by email, It bounced!

She is definitely related to me as her grgrandparents are my grandparents. The above msg was sent in 2006, so it is five years ago and was found by a friend.

She has a very unusual email address. If you Google aljagriz you'll see she has a profile on Flixter that says she lives in Surrey, BC.

Thank you Rose, sent a msg through to this Liz.p and hope she is the one I am searching for. Her profile looks very quiet though. I will keep on try.

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 3 Dec 2011 10:02

Did you try contacting anitawellard2204? Just because the profile says she hasn't been active for 6 months, she may still be able to pick up messages.

Even though she doesn't appear to be Elizabeth P, she may know her.

Send me a message that you would like relayed, and I'll pass it on within the next 24 hours. If she replies, I'll let you know and and if it is positive, you can exchange email addresses. ;-)

Alternatively, you could take out a 14 day trial, but make sure you contact them to cancel say 10 days into it. Otherwise they'd take your money.
