I think I have found her on 192 but I'm going to have to get credits to view the full address, the date shown is 2002 but other occupants have since lived there from what it's saying, and I know she lived at the same address for many years. I appreciate all the help that people have given me, it's so sad as Elsie is my mums aunt, and my mum passed away 3 years ago, I would have loved to have shared all of this information with her, and I didn't even know my great grandparents names so thanks everyone, my search continues to find out where or what has happened to Elsie :-)

You can check the Electrol roll free which will give part of the address...of course she may have opted out of having her details displayed

http://www.192.com/atoz/people/lewis/elsie/

The birth cert will cost £9.25 from gro.gov

Jennifer Report 12 Nov 2012 19:04

Ok I'll look in to that, and I'll try to get the certificate, thanks so much ill let you know how I get on

KempinaPartyhat Report 12 Nov 2012 18:58

you need to check the electrol roll which may cost to look at on 192.com
get her birth certificate from GRO at £9.95 as this will possible give her middle name then we can look again for a possible death

She may be in a home for older people and if no family have been to see her the home may assume she has no family and when she passes away she will be registered by someone in the home as just"Elsie lewis" of which there are many

good luck do come back if you get the certificate and we may be able to help you again

It would be great if she was still alive, and I've been trying to find out for a few years now. Lets just hope Elsie is one of the 135,000.

patchem

patchem Report 12 Nov 2012 18:30

There are about 135,000 women alive in this country who are over 90, and about 11,000 who are over 100.
You never can tell, she might be still alive.

Elsie was my mums aunt, I was only a little girl so, I think my mum and Elsie just lost touch over the years, but I remember her well and she was such a lovely lady, she lived in east ham the last time I went there, but have no idea of the name of the road or where. I will have a look on the electoral roll thanks.

patchem

patchem Report 11 Nov 2012 15:30

Can you remember when you last visited her, and any reason why you stopped?

Electoral roll search of last known address, to see when 'moved'?

Jennifer

Jennifer Report 11 Nov 2012 15:14

The w in Elsie's name stands for Wallace I think

Jennifer

Jennifer Report 11 Nov 2012 14:48

She lived in east ham when I used to visit her, yes I know what you mean she would be 98 years old now.

jax

jax Report 11 Nov 2012 13:43

Where did you visit her? was it in the West Ham area?

The chances of her still being alive are very slim...she may have even died in the last 6 years and those records will not be online

Jennifer

Jennifer Report 11 Nov 2012 13:24

This can't be Elsie as I was born in 1978 and I used to visit her as a young girl, I'll try and get hold of the certificates, thanks so much for your help.

The following is a perfect illustration of the need to realise that death cert info can be inaccurate
