rosepetals Report 19 Jan 2013 21:48

ive noticed with all the info that im getting mother used bryant for 4 of her children and used her birth name hansen for just one of my brothers ,,
this hansen/bryant thing is so confusing
but one person did say that her eldest sister could of brought her up ,,maybe ,,because this eldest did marry a bryant and mothers father did die when she was 1 leaving her mother with lots of kids between the ages of 1 and 25 ,,so that could of been one reason ,,
ive never been able to find divorce papers for mother and father ,or re marriages although someone thinks they found a remarriage for mother to a noble
thank you all again

rosepetals Report 19 Jan 2013 21:39

patchem Report 19 Jan 2013 20:19

You have put that Charles died in 1939.
This is the only death that I can see, do you know if it is the correct one?
Charles A Hansen

Date of Registration: Jul-Aug-Sep 1939
Age at Death: 34

(Or could he have been registered as Hanson?)

No death for 'Annie Hansen' in 1974.
Do you know where?

Were you all fostered? Were there any adoptions because the adoption papers might reveal more about your mother.

Perhaps Moya was brought up by her eldest sister and assumed the surname Bryant?

rosepetals Report 19 Jan 2013 18:02

thank you for all your messages ,,,, :-)
answers to some questions ,,annies death is 1974 and charles 1939 these are my grandparents ,,john i dont know ,,father died 2000 whome i didnt know so i dont know who signed for his death ,everything i know i was told a few months ago ,but at the age of 13 i was told i was only fostered and had 3 brothers , i went to see 2 of them and that was 43 years ago and they the two ive found ,all douglas chapman as father but mother used 2 names for us as maiden ,,i do know mothers father died when she was 1 but where bryant came from i dont know as she was wed at 16 so she wasnt wed previous to that ,but i do know her eldest sister annie wed a bryant,
thank you again ,,,,,,sandra

patchem Report 19 Jan 2013 16:43

Sorry, just realised, why this was 'familiar'

I hope this is the wrong Moya.

The obituary claims she was born as Chapman, but unfortunately no ages given.

patchem Report 19 Jan 2013 16:34

There is a possible marriage for Moya Chapman (no middle initial) in Burnley in 1978.
(I can see 3 births for Moya Chapman, all with a middle initial, so partially ruled these out)
The marriage does not give alternate surnames for her, however.
Will pm it.
She then can be found in - but it could be a different Moya, not your Mother.

Flip Report 19 Jan 2013 16:15

I would think she was "known" under 2 different names, she may have lived with someone but not been married? So she was born Hanson, but may have assumed the name Bryant - hence the marriage index. It often happens, and is a common occurrence.

Flip Report 19 Jan 2013 15:57

You should have kept this to together:

Will PM rosepetals to tell her how to get back to her posts

patchem Report 19 Jan 2013 14:45

Do you know when Annie or Charles Hansen or John Bryant died?

From the marriage certificates that you have got, what are the names of the Fathers?

I think you also need to get the certificates for the weddings Reggie has found.

Was your Mother the informant on your Father's death certificate?

rosepetals Report 19 Jan 2013 14:32

im so sorry ive just found this box :-(

ErikaH Report 19 Jan 2013 12:54

Surely any children born to Moya should have the MMN Hansen

patchem Report 18 Jan 2013 23:56

Could this be Douglas's death?
Douglas Chapman
Birth Date: 31 Jan 1936
Date of Registration: May 2000
Age at Death: 64
Registration district: South Shields
Inferred County: Tyne and Wear
Register Number: A66F
District and Subdistrict: 0571A

brummiejan Report 18 Jan 2013 23:47

There are Chapman/Bryant births in South Shields after 1954, if that is relevant??
They can be found on Freebmd.
The only Chapman/Bryant marriage in the area is the one you have, as far as I can tell, so possibly their children?
