Looking for any relatives of Harry Ellis born 1929 trying to make up the family tree if anyone knows of him from Beecholme residential school in Banstead, he was there with his brother Robert and twins Mary and George, And sister Lillian.

All Southwark or Lambeth (south London)

Harry married and grew up in Leatherhead then settled in Epsom/Ewell

Beechholme was a children's home in Fir Tree Road, Banstead, Surrey. It was founded in 1879 as a Residential School for poor children from the slums of Kensington and Chelsea and run under a Village system.

Given the ages, I fear that very few people who were at school with Harry and siblings will still be living.

It's not clear what information you're hoping for.

Are you hoping for info re living relatives/descendants - or are you hoping to find out about their parents and ancestors?

There are about 6 trees on Ancestry with the family in them. (using Robert G Ellis 1919) none of them name Harry they all end with the twins.. Plenty more children starting in 1908

So Harry has Charles & Maud in his tree. Because of his age I assumed this Harry was looking for the families of Harry ‘s siblings.


AG - what an interesting photo. As George was in the photo I wonder where his twin, Mary, was as she wasn’t named.

Not necessarily him. There was another George Ellis born in 1st qr 1924, in West Ham.

The Hall tree on Ancestry that I mentioned before is by a descendant of George and they have the same 1939 entry as AG has above.

This is why I suggested that Harry takes out some sort of sub to Ancestry in the hope he can make contact.

Added: the ‘owner’ of the Hall tree is Lorraine and she has George in a tree on Genes. So several routes for Harry to try.

Thank you everyone, not sure how this all works, I am Linda Ellis Harry’s daughter in law, he passed away in 1983,
I am aware his mum was maud Mary ellis and Charles ellis his father, he had 12 siblings.
I just wondered about present family outwith Harry’s sons, just wondered if there were living relatives cousins, uncles, aunts.
