has the sad tale of the drowning of Lily Rosaline Curtis aged 17, daur of Fanny's eldest son John Curtis (acc to 1891 census posted), and wife Emma Butts . It was deemed to be suicide by drowning whilst in a state of temporary insanity.

Further military records give his full name as George Joseph Thomas Curtis. He sailed with his unit in October 1915. In May 1916 he received a gunshot wound to the humerus. He was admitted to the Hammersmith Military Hospital, London then was sent back to Canada on Nov. 1916 aboard the SS Grampian.
