Bit too geeky for me that Janey, or it could just be I am tired (and maybe the brain is exhausted after watching Britain's Got Talent :-D :-D :-D)

My cache was cleared yesterday.

I may have solved my problem (fingers crossed!)

I have GR in my Favourites, and just click on that when I want to open the site. It was set so that GR opened on the Community page

I noticed that when I had to log in every time, it took me back to my Home Page and then I had to get back to Community.

So ....................... I re-saved GR in my Favourites, using the Community page

Deleted the "old" one from Favourites

and .......................... I didn't have to log in just now :-D

Thanks to everyone for posting details of this problem. We're very aware of the problem, we're having a hard time replicating it in the office, which makes it harder to track down. the deleting old favourites and readding sounds like its worth a try. Again, thank you for your patience andsorry for the disruption.

This has been happening to me for weeks - long before the emoticon thing happened, and is still the same.

If we are talking foreign and logging out!!!

Over the last two or three days each time I shut down the computer I need to log into GR again when I click on the icon on rebooting the computer.

I have never had to do this before - only when GR was experiencing technical difficulties, or I have actually logged myself out of the site.

I am on the down under version of GR (.com.au).

Just adding - searching for any updated or new version of site, adding to favourites, removing from favourites etc did not work. It is a current glitch in the site.
No problems elsewhere.

just had to log back in again :-(

GlitterBaby Report 5 Jun 2011 08:02

Oh dear back to login again

Worked okay for a day

InspectorGreenPen Report 5 Jun 2011 19:40

Haven't had to log back in for over three days and sweet as a nut for yesterday and today.

All I did do was to delete favourites because the web addresses changed with the last lot of upgrades, re-create my main log in favourite from a fresh Google log in and cleared out my browser cache and history.

IGP

that's exactly what I did on Friday.

It worked for the rest of that day ................ no need to log in anew when closing the site OR turning off the power

It did not survive overnight turn-off, so I had to log in anew yesterday morning.

However .......... I did not have to log in new a few minutes ago after last night's turning off

so it seems it is the luck of the draw!

It is an intermittent ongoing problem of which genes reunited are aware and are trying to fix.

AuntySherlock

Just realized I did not have to log in this morning. Computer has been off all night.

AnninGlos Report 6 Jun 2011 08:28

You know I really can't be doing with this, I have already had to log in twice this morning in about half an hour using the boards. I do hope theya re going to get this sorted.

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 6 Jun 2011 08:32

It is intermittent and the last time I had to log in was when I tried to access my watched threads, even though I was already logged in on Gen chat.

Joy

Joy Report 6 Jun 2011 18:33

This morning, I did not have to sign in.
This evening, I did have to sign in.

This is getting sillier. A fee-paying site should not contain so many glitches. Going to free ones where I do not experience this logging in problem.

TootyFruity

TootyFruity Report 6 Jun 2011 20:02

Argggh still getting logged out regularly.

Getting really annoying :-(

SylviaInCanada

SylviaInCanada Report 6 Jun 2011 20:59

I did not have to log-in either time that I have accessed the site so far today

but I hate the "will it or won't it work" that I feel every single time I want to open the site
