Im not into reporting posts and dont, although there was an exception a few years ago when one person was effin and jeffin at someone else...thats the only time I reported a post in the years I have been on here

As for reporting because you dont agree with another persons view point...thats just plain petulant

Persephone Report 13 Jun 2011 14:50

I was on a thread not that long ago with Janey where petulance reigned supreme.

When those with an opposing view which is fair enough, don't stick to the point or points of the debate but resort to personal attacks.

Janey's posts came under fire several times and were RRd... why? i agreed with Janey as did others and yet ours were not reported.

i would hazard a guess that one of the opposing "debaters" wanted to reduce the thread to something farcical by continually reporting against Janey.

To me that is tantamount to having a temper tantrum...

Persie wearing her cynical hat yet again.

What is going on here why do threads keep going and getting reported!!???

InspectorGreenPen

InspectorGreenPen Report 14 Jun 2011 20:15

I saw your post earlier.

WHY? Perhaps it was because you used the word "CRAP" in your post.? That is why someone reported it as being unsuitable for a family site.

SylviaInCanada

SylviaInCanada Report 14 Jun 2011 20:45

But I thought that no-one under the age of 16 was supposed to be allowed to register on this site?

I do agree that the word c**p was probably the reason why someone reported it

Gee

Gee Report 14 Jun 2011 21:10

It's hardly the worse word in the world to use!

However if someone is offended then I guess they have the right to report it

But......I do think we have a serial thread reporter who will at some point run out of email addresses to use!

What ever!

General Chat : Anyone watch Home and Away?
has been R R - that is silly :-(

Gee

Gee Report 14 Jun 2011 22:21

No, I dont watch home and away....but I have seen the thread and to RR is stoopid

Who ever is doing this WILL be outed....the silly petulant little person

jax Report 14 Jun 2011 22:33

There seems to be a few reported today some for no reason...one I just noticed maybe because she mentioned a birth in 1926??

If it is a person doing this they will have a field day when replies are allowed on Living rellies :-)

Persephone Report 14 Jun 2011 23:31

What can it be if it is not a person doing this Jax? :-S

Are we being invaded by daleks :-(

I daren't say it is our ancestors returning to kick up havoc ;-)
Holly's thread on that subject got completely whooshed :-P

All this reporting is getting rather tedious...

AmazingGrace08

AmazingGrace08 Report 14 Jun 2011 23:37

I thought they were sorting this out and dealing with the person/people involved..it just seems to go on and on with no response from GR to any of the suggestions made.

jax

jax Report 14 Jun 2011 23:52

I am sure like everyone else it is a person/persons doing this persie.

I am sure some have their reasons but most seem ridiculious.

I have noticed that there are not many being reported on living rellies which if a birth being mentioned in 1926 can be reported on find ancestors then most on that board should be too.

Persephone Report 15 Jun 2011 00:33

I would think that when a person reached the 85 years of age mark they would be proud to be mentioned anywhere. I know I would..... and that people that report a post re someone born in 1926 is a bit precious....... yawn yawn.

My mother's cousin's birth name is Ethel Davies she was born in 1919 still allive and doesn't mind a bit that I mention her on here... she served her country in WW2 as a WAAC in Fiji and is the only one of us that has a Mechanics Certificate. She was also a shorthand typist and did a lot of typing up of secret stuff re attacks etc. She had an angora pet rabbit when she was a little girl.... sheesh whatever.

Persie ... there you go whoever report this post.

jax

jax Report 15 Jun 2011 00:43

HID has parents born 1925 both still living but I am not giving you any more info ok :-D

Some can be a bit personal but just mentioning a name and the qtr and year of birth of this person just asking for some details, I saw no reason for it to be reported.

Next time you want to mention your mothers cousin can you please get her to supply a letter allowing you to do so please persie :-)

Phil has been a bit quiet lately.

Maybe he is so inundated with complaints that he doesn't know where to start.

The RR'ing seems to be very indiscriminate........I can understand it for bad language and vicious, unnecessary comments but for the long standing, ordinary threads, there is no explanation.

Persie, I mean to ask....

"Where did you get that hat, where did you get that hat?" :-D

Persephone

Persephone Report 15 Jun 2011 08:14

Now how I came to get this hat
Is very strange and funny
My uncle died and left to me
His property and money
And when the will it was read out
They told me straight and flat
If I'm to have his money i must also wear his hat

Very appropriate words for genealogy thread. LOL :-)
