Find Ancestors

I have a birth cert which has thrown up more questions than answers.Can anybody help sort it out.
The information on the cert is as follows

Reg dist Croydon.

30th April 1943 Erica Phyllis (girl)
Father:Eric Whan Mason
Mother: Phyllis Calkin otherwise Mason,formerly Kingham.

Both parents registered the birth and were living at the same address in Croydon at the time but we can find no trace of Phyllis under any of her surnames although we have been given a possible dob of 1921.
We know a bit more about Eric such as his dob ,26 Oct 1903 in Camberwell, and a record of him returning to England from Nigeria in 1930.
Any suggestions please.

Yes that is the entry that goes with the cert I have which has caused all the confusion.

There are a few to choose from but this one is close to the date of birth you mentioned..

There is a previous child with the same parents surnames - Apologies - Calkin and Kingham

Sadly no. Her son has been researching the family tree and found out that his mum was adopted almost from birth and these details are all that he has been able to find.

Sue,have had a quick look at birth records and there is nothing for a Phyllis Joan in 1920 under the surname Kingham or Calkin.

Travelling with Arthur Charles b.1892 living in Thornton Heath Surrey

The record re Phyllis Joan came from Ancestry,but I must admit I can't find a birth to match that death record .
So this Phyliis is only a Kingham by marriage .

Will have a lok around a bit longer for you.

He was a musician maybe they were not from this country not seeing him leaving again or death at the moment

Maybe Arthur was away with war duties and phyllis had a fling with Mr Mason while he was away???

It looks like Rex ended up in the Brentwood area...he may still be living??

can only see him on 192.co up until 2002 so he may have died in the last 5 years
