I have been a good girl today...

Housework....well all the floors hoovered and mopped


And soon to sit down with a spag bol and fresh bread

I love the Dulux advert on tv at the moment. Mum and Dad paint a bedroom bright yellow. Son comes home late, doesn't notice until he wakes up.......aarrghh. Mum and dad having breakfast, son pops head round door to say he's moving out. They solemnly wave him off, go back into house and punch the air in delight!!! :-D :-D


I'm fortunate that I never suffered from 'Empty Nest Syndrome'.

we had a very similar ad to that over here some years ago ........ only ours involved cheese. The parents stopped buying cheese.


We LOVED it!




J spent only her 2 Masters years in Residence, and that was here in the same city. She was home most weekends.

She moved out 1 week after they married, which was just after she'd completed that degree ............

....... she had a moving company come to take everything she wanted.

That seemed to include the futon, desk, beside cabinet, etc etc


All she left behind in her room was the desk that had been built in place (I think only because she couldn't figure out how to demolish it :-D ), and the buiilt-in unit in the closet (same reason). She also left the curtains.


That was beginning of July


By October, we had totally re-painted, bought all new furniture, and had ourselves a study.

I love that advert but I couldn't get into sons room to paint. I keep threatening to take a picture and post it on his FB page lol

Long before my daughter moved out aged 21 we had christened her room "The Skip" because she kept so much junk in it. Since she first moved into a home of her own she has kept her home(s) ultra tidy bordering almost on obsessively clean.

My youngest son who is aged 20 is still living at home and his room resembles his sisters before she left. I wonder if once he has a place of his own his habits will change as dramatically as his sisters did.

You do very well to have a great grand-daughter AND a son who is only 20 Jonesey

I must look up on my little chart what relation he is to her !!

Dea,

He is her Great Uncle.

He was an uncle from the moment he was born as my oldest granddaughter is two and a half years older than him. It used to raise a few laughs when we used to be out as a family whilst he was still in his carry chair or pram. People would say to my granddaughter, "Is that your little brother?" She would reply, "No, its my uncle."
