Poor Fred I found him wandering on page 3.

Have had the grandkids today and have just got time to get on here.

I finally got the invites printed off and am pleased with them. Now all I have to do is get the party organised ;-)

Where is everyone hiding tonight?

Cynthia hope you enjoyed your facial. Did you get a head massage?

LK hope they give you another day off ;-)

Looks like we might have the GD's again this week (Fri + Sat) to son and d-i-l get baking etc done for the christening on Sunday.

Can recommend alomide eyedrops for your eyes Gins.

Available over the counter in hayfever season only.

Jonesey

Jonesey Report 16 May 2013 08:02

I'm sad to see activity on "Fred" decline as it has during the past few weeks. Particularly sad because reduced activity means that Fred's core message, contained in its title, (Which as I write I note has been viewed by over 12,500 individual GR members during Fred's existence.), has I'm sure prevented many hundreds of duplicated posts, is often now displayed on the 2nd or even 3rd page of the Find Ancestors board instead of near the top of the 1st page.

There are I'm sure many reasons for the decline. Natural wastage as regular contributors move on, the move of some "Old stagers" to activities on the Dark side and perhaps even the constant GR error message which causes much frustration to some when trying to post.

Whatever the reasons I feel that if "Fred" is to continue to do its good work into the future it needs a shot in the arm or a boot up its backside. I for one certainly miss the friendly, humorous and sometimes hilarious posts that used to regularly appear.

Ideas and suggestions as to what can be done to ensure Fred's survival should be posted on this thread.

Good morning.............whoever is around :-D

I know what you mean and how you feel Jonesey, and I'm sorry about the decline too. I suppose life moves on and the dark side has certainly had an influence on here. :-(

Although I visit over there regularly, I try not to forget my roots and friends on here..... :-D

Happy birthday to JB..........sounds as though Gins is in for a very busy day.... :-D

Now for breakfast............

The kettle is on and the porridge is bubbling merrily.

The bacon is sizzling nicely and smells lovely.....and there are mushrooms, tomatoes and black pudding.

Lots of bread available for toast.

Fresh crumpets and croissants are available.

There is a choice of cereal for those who want something lighter

Enjoy and have a good day.

Jonesey! You know you are not allowed to smoke in the house.....>>>>>>>tuts.

I promise to be back later - but have got the decorator in and taking my friend out this afternoon.

Good morning all :-D

The sun is shining and it's a lovely bright day :-)

I will have the bacon, mushrooms and tomatoes and a slice of toast - thank you Cynthia, it is delicious ! <3

You are right Jonesey, there are not many of us left on here and I too miss the hilarious times we had together in the past.

We will have to do something about this, but what ??

Will have a think and be back later,

Dea Xxx

Jonesey Report 16 May 2013 10:05

Persie,

Lovely to see you back where you belong. :-D

Cyn,

Not sure how you managed to spot me having a crafty fag from where you are. Yesterdays facial must have improved your long vision as well as your visage. :-P

Dea,

Get your thinking cap on. <3

LadyKira

LadyKira Report 16 May 2013 10:24

Ahh Jonesey you miss me. <3 <3

You are right in that I have not been on here much for a while.

I have been working longer hours and have been tired when I get home.

I have also spent time updating my FTM after my disaster on there.

You would of course be welcome to join us if you change your mind,

Gins.......bless you.

And happy birthdday JB.

SAVE OUR FRED

Cynthia Report 16 May 2013 10:50

Oooooooh! How nice to see Persie and LK.....and our dearest Dea of course :-D

Jonesey......I is a woman....I has eyes in the back of my head remember and there is nowt wrong with my sense of smell either........you forgot to open the back door!

Not only am I being entertained by my lovely decorator and his radio, but next door still has the window fitters in. I am being treated to the sight of men's legs as they go up and down the ladders...... ;-)

Added to which, the burglar alarm man called for the annual check up - which I had forgotten about

have dropped OH off for his morning constitutional

and I am waiting for a call from my car insurance people and am ready to pay out the proverbial arm and leg..... :-(

Tell you what...................the excitement never ends rounds here....... :-S

LK, can you recommend some eye drops for a drippy eye please?

Jonesey

Jonesey Report 16 May 2013 11:41

LK,

Of course I miss you. <3 <3

Cyn,

Get your mind off those window fitters legs and concentrate on higher things. ;-)

As far as car insurance is concerned use the comparison websites to discover by how much your current insurers are most likely overcharging you. When the prices are in go back to your current insurers. You may be pleasantly surprised by how much "Valued customer" discount they offer you to stay with them. I know I was when mine reduced the original renewal premium quoted by over £100. :-D

LadyKira

LadyKira Report 16 May 2013 13:40

Cyntthia

Avert those eyes at once. ;-)

You will get seared eyeballs.

Eye logic spray or Systane drops are brilliant for tired dry eyes.

When the surface of your eyes get dry the natural lubrication is not there so an irritant response causes them to tear up but this only gives temporary relief and the cycle goes on.

LadyKira

LadyKira Report 16 May 2013 15:24

Unless you meant droopy eyes.

Sorry dear but lots of things droop at your age.
