Popping back to the what happened on your wedding day theme.

The minister who married Mrs J and I tried to marry me off to her sister. He knew Mrs J's family very well as all of them were regular members of his congregation. He obviously became a bit confused when he asked me, "Do you, David take xxxxx to be your lawful wife?" Fortunately I was paying attention and as xxxxx was my intended bride's sister I replied "No." which threw him for a moment until he realised what he had just done. We all laughed and he asked the question correctly second time round.

Another interesting thing about the ceremony were the vows that we made. At that time I was an aetheist but Mrs J wanted to marry in church. I have never been one who believes in being dishonest so I went to the minister well before the marriage to discuss the situation with him. Ron, the minister, was a great chap who later became a good friend said that he had no problem marrying us but that because of my views he felt that the vows we were to make should be modified from the usual. Consequently Mrs J made her vows to God and I whereas I made them to her only. As far as I know nobody but us three noticed the difference.

Ron's attitude was instrumental in getting me to change my views and beliefs later in life.

Interesting story Jonesey........might have guessed that your marriage would not have gone without a 'story' attached to it...... :-D

Wow, that was a rush this morning........but all sorted now thank goodness. The physios have been absolutely great and they can see an improvement in OH's mobility. My part of course, is to continue nagging him to do his exercises..... :-D

Pleased your sister was a little better today Gins, hopefully it perked you up, too :-)

Well, I haven't been able to post on here as much as I wanted to, keep getting that ruddy "error message" intermittently, have even tried different browsers - no difference.

Have just had to put the heating on, it's colder than it should be. I'm not a sun worshipper but I'm sick of the damp and dismal weather.

What a day I've had.

Packed this morning, always takes longer when Carlo comes with me, you'd think I'd remember and do it the night before, but everything was ready by noon. Flight went at 4pm but had to be at the airport by 3 because of needing assistance. Anyway at 2pm I start jollying Carlo along and remember we need passports as driving licences have expired and are on the to do list, can I find my passport, I cannot. Panicking I emptied my handbags, checked where it usually is, checked bedside cabinet, running around like a demented flea. Carlo on the other hand picks up the first bag I looked in, (which I had emptied) and at the bottom flush with the lining was my passport :-D big sigh of relief.

We get to the airport 5 minutes late but well within check in time to be met with

You haven't booked assistance, you have to ring through and book assistance. (Jobsworth) at which I had to say it had never been a problem with flybe before when I'd booked online. She repeated several times, you have to ring flybe for assistance at the time of booking. Oh and you're five minutes late. Her colleague on the next desk could see I was getting frazzled and said to my check in person. Just add assistance now for all flights, not a problem. Jobsworth, but they should of phoned. I told them as it was a problem for her, we would just go and stand in her colleagues queue. Jobsworth checked us in.

Going through customs, Carlo, who didn't need to remove his jacket insisted on doing so. we put it in tray to go through the x-ray machine. Carlo hasn't gone through his pockets and removed his bottle of water or his mouth spray and put in a clear bag. First search security guard empties my bag and finds water in Carlo's jacket pocket, Carlo takes a drink to prove it isn't anything other than water. All our stuff goes through x-ray machine again, this time his mouth spray needs to be found, security guard removes puts in clear bag, tuts at me, I tear a strip of Carlo. back it goes through again. I will be checking his pockets when we go home.

Now at Mum's with feet up, could do with a glass of wine though

Loved reading about your weddings Sylvia and Jonesey.
