Hoping to have a quieter day today.......could be wishful thinking of course.....but at least I am at the hairdressers this afternoon, and that guarantees a sit down for a while.. :-D

Lots of washing today so I don't have much to do tomorrow.

We are out tonight for dinner and hospital visiting tomorrow afternoon.

Then it's bring on the holiday ;-)

We leave on Sunday and home the following Sunday.

Gotta go and make some lunch then off to shops will check in later.

I wish I'd done our washing before going to work, its been lovely weather all day

Came home an hour or so ago and zonked out on the sofa....crackered as Cyns says

Have friends coming over tomorrow to celebrate my birthday. Also have my cousin (once removed) who I met a few years via Ancestry

Its not until the 20th but we having friends over tomorrow as Tues is not a good day to have a late night!

And yes, it is the big 5:0 Got the caterers doing the food tomorrow so all we have to do is clean up

He's taking me to Brussels & Bruges in Sept to celebrate alone, cant go in August I am too busy.

JB was fed ginger tea by the boys who run his bistro at work. He said earlier he felt a lot better. He's going to the Friday club so he cant be that bad now....I suggested port and brandy when he gets there

I have just enjoyed THE most delicious Spaghetti Bolognaise served with slices of garlic and parmesan toasted ciabatta !........................... who needs caterers? ;-) :-D :-D

I have been 'fancying' it for days but hubby has either been out or didn't want it or the grandchildren were here but today I managed to have it.

I cooked the sauce a few weeks ago and froze it so it only took minutes to prepare. If I am cooking something like this I always cook a LOT and then freeze the rest in portions so I have about 6 meals for 2 in the freezer.

I find the flavours seem to develop in there and it is even nicer when you take it out and re-heat it ;-)

I must let it settle for an hour or so and then I will be off in search of chocolate ;-) :-D :-D

Dea ........... that Spag Bol sounds delicious. We do the same thing, cook up lots of any meal, and freeze in individual portions, and, yes, the flavours do intensify when you do that.

Totally shattered tonight.

Did a full days work then round to daughters to help her un pack in her new house.

They had no water when I got there but sorted now.

Lots to do as it is in a bit of a state.

Just got to make it livable for now.

Breakfast's ready:

French Toast Thick-cut bread dipped in egg & grilled, then topped with one of the following delicious combinations:
Cinnamon sugar & maple syrup -
Mascarpone & berry compote -
Streaky bacon, grilled banana & maple syrup

Morning Glory Muffin - Beef sausage patty, white cheddar cheese, poached egg & BBQ sauce on a toasted English muffin.

Frittata Genovese - Open style omelette topped with sautéed potatoes, Rosa sauce & parmesan cheese. Garnished with fresh basil.

Caffe Breakfast - Two poached eggs, rye toast, fresh or grilled cherry tomatoes & fresh basil.

Urban Energy - Pack a punch with a platter of streaky bacon, beef sausage, eggs, grilled cherry tomatoes & a hash brown..

Choice of breads there for toast..

Sunrise Pizza - Crispy sourdough pizza topped with melted white cheddar & mozzarella cheese, roasted cherry tomatoes, crispy streaky bacon & two eggs.

Three-egg omelette - or an Egg-white omelette - Get creative with my choice of delectable fillings:
Caramelised onions / Fresh tomatoes / Mixed peppers
White cheddar / Ham / Mozzarella / Spinach
Streaky bacon / Sautéed mushrooms

For your Saturday Lunch/brunch

Crostini di Salmone Freshly grilled ciabatta bread topped with avocado, smoked salmon and red onion caper relish, served with a fresh lemon, mint, cucumber and yoghurt dip.

Crostini di Parma Freshly grilled ciabatta bread topped with my imported prosciutto, crisp rocket & pecorino shavings, served with an olive & red onion tapenade.

Bruschetta Pomodoro Grilled ciabatta, garlic-rubbed and topped with fresh tomatoes, Extra Virgin Olive Oil, a dash of lemon and fresh oregano. Garnished with fresh basil.

Pizza Bread Sourdough flatbread with rock salt, fresh oregano, rosemary & balsamic caramelised onions. Brushed with Extra Virgin Olive Oil.

Pan E Salsa Stacked sourdough flat bread seasoned with rock salt & fresh oregano. With a choice of Napoletana or Recco sauce or spicy, chunky vegetable Peperonata.

Pizza Fresca Sourdough flatbread topped with our famous marinated tomatoes & fresh rocket.

Cheesecake Baked cheesecake with blueberry compote.

Dark chocolate brownies with delicious milk chocolate, topped with nuts. Served hot with cream or ice cream.

Affogato A double espresso with a dollop of vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce.
