Hi Miriam,
I need help PLEASE!. i noticed that someone else has Hampshire disc's as well so i'm hoping that between the two of you you may be able to help me.
I'm trying to find the marriage of one of my husbands ancestors.I think that she came from Portsea. If i give you the info i have on them do you think you will be able to help?
This is what i have so far sent to me by some one else also looking for the marriage.
George Marsh born about 1814 and Mary Elizabeth Hayden born 1821. They had 3 children: Mary Susannah (1856), George Henry(1857) and Emma Jane(1860). At the time of Mary Susannah's birth he was a seaman in the merchant navy, at the the time of George's birth he was a carter and at the time of Ema's birth he was a general labourer. All the children were born in Portsea. On all 3 birth birth certs she gives her former name as Hayden. George was from Sussex and I'm sure Mary E was from Portsea. Could you have a look and see if you can find a marriage for them?
many thanks

Elizabeth and Miriam

Elizabeth thanks for message!

I hope you don't mind me asking again?I have a couple more queries.

John Paddock was the father of Mary Paddock i asked for earlier. His 1st daughter was born in 1776 in Weyhill and her name was Ann Paddock.John was married to a Elizabeth Pearce.
What i am unable to find is

1)John's parents-he died i believe in Weyhill 1821(12-9-1821).I believe he may have been born around 1755.Have no place of birth-maybe Weyhill?

2)His wife was Elizabeth Pearce born i believe around 1757.I have no parents for her either. She died in 1817(26-11-1817) in Weyhill also.Maybe also born in Weyhill?

I am thinking if the children were born in Weyhill it maybe possible that John and Elizabeth or 1 of them was also born in Weyhill.

I am unable in IGI to see a def for them wondered if your discs may hold this info?

Also again with the other side-The Beavis(bevis) side

Father of John 1782 was John Beavis(c1755) he was married to Catherine Duke(c1759-Monxton?) the only child i have for this pair is John 1782.This is as far back as i have gone on this side as i do not know where John(c1755) was born.

I am asking alot sorry...but as i have no access to Hampshire discs this side have remained brick walled for a while and i would love to be able to get back further.
Any help would be very much appreciated.

Thanks
Michelle

Elizabeth

I believe you have the Hampshire marriage index.

Could you please lookup a marriage between my John Edey and Ann (surname not known). Edey is sometimes spelt Eady, Edey, etc.

According to the census John was born in Sopley 1783 and Ann was born in 1779 Hampshire. I know according to the census that Ann had a daughter named Ann born in Kingston, Portsmouth, Hampshire in 1802 before she married John.

I hope you can help.

Regards, Paul

P.S. I am also looking for John's baptism as i requested in an above message to Miriam.

Thanks for checking the Christchurch disc. It is a shame you were unable to find John's baptism.

Samuel son of John ADEY 21/6/1786 could well be connected. I shall keep a note of him for future reference.

Paul

Elizabeth

Thanks for your help in searching the index.

I believe the East Woodhay John to have died young.

I have no idea about the Nanny name from the Widley marriage. Interesting though.

The 06 Sep 1775 at Ringwood, John EADY s Willam & Sarah baptism sticks out to me. Ringwood is next to Sopley where i believe John was born from the census data. I wonder if John made out he was 8 years younger on the census. Food for thought !

Thanks for trying Elizabeth.
I believe that Mary would have married George Marsh in about 1855 or 56

Disks are from parish chest - www.parishchest.com - not very expensive - that's a really good idea - I think I'll put some more on my Christmas list!
