Hi Joy,

I see what you mean! I don't see a Thomas Cooper Kenyon anywhere other than that.

Wonder if it's a record of their banns or something and his name is a little off? I see it's one of those (I03811-3) batch numbers.

Sorry-can't help!
:-(

Hi all,

Can someone with access to U.S. records, please help me. Was their two Harold Parkinsons?

On the 1930 Census there was a Leslie H Parkinson and Fay E Parkinson nee???? living in Ohio. Can anyone find their marriage between 1920 and 1930?

I have found a death of a Leslie Parkinson in Florida 1983, is this the same person?

Also found on New York Passenger Lists 23rd May, 1947 Ivy Parkinson (nee Catherall) returning from the U.K. N.O.K. Leslie Parkinson, Virginia. Ivy died 1995 in Florida, (this also corresponds with what the family has said).

Cannot find a marriage between Ivy & Leslie either.

The information that I have received from family, was Leslie served in WW1, he was sent to the U.K. after being injured, while in hospital he met a young girl, later marrying her, unfortunately she was only known as 'Billie', that is why I am having trouble finding out who is the correct person.

Thanks, Joy

The 1947 passenger list for Ivy gives name of her mother as Hannah Catherall, 5 Imperial Ct., Rayner's Lane. Ivy is heading home to Ruckersville, Virginia to join husband Leslie Parkinson.

Sorry allotment, Leslie was known as 'Harold' by all his family, will amend in a minute. As in a lot of families, 7 of his siblings were also known by their 2nd names!!

Margee,

Leslie was born in Australia in 1889. He only returned to Australia once, which was during the 1960's. He was a mechanic by trade, but believe that he owned a 'Caravan Park' not sure what they are called in U.S for a number of years.

Thankyou both, on the 1930 Census it states that Leslie was 1st married aged 32, on 1945 it doesn't give any age.

Do you think that Fay might have died and he married Ivy?

Thanks Margee, I now remember something about trailor parks.

Have rechecked 1930 Census for Fay E, someone has put in a possible change to Foy, she was also born in England.

Is there anything online for bdm's, in the U.S.?

Thanks again, Joy

I am having trouble with the internet at the moment, very slow.

I agree with allotment, the name is definitely Ivy and not Fay on that 1930 census. Mind you it should be Ivy D. not E. He emigrated 1920 and she in 1922.
