Linda have you got the marriage cert for Frances Ellen Thompson.
Her son Donald travelled a lot so I have posted some passenger list records although he seems to have changed from stockbroker to decorator. I am still checking that one.

Thought I'd share this with you from a lady from the Curious Fox site.

Today at Anglesey County Archives, I searched the Amlwch parish registers and found the following information:

Amlwch Register of Marriage WPE/34/17

Robert Davis of this parish, Bachelor and Margaret Owen of this parish, spinster, were married in this church by Banns with consent of ……………….. this twenty fifth day of December in the year One Thousand Eight hundred and Twenty Nine.

Robert Davis (the mark of) X Margaret Owen (the mark of) X

In the presence of: Owen Owens and Richard Owen

As Robert and Margaret just "X" it probably means they couldn't write. They didn't need consent as they were probably over 21.

I think this proves they were brother and sister.....?

Clocktower building in Mostyn to reopen

A COMMUNITY building which has been unused since the charity which owned it went bust is to open its doors again.

Care worker Diane Roberts is planning to open the Clocktower building Mostyn, formerly known as the Robert Davies Memorial Hall, as a life skills centre and residential facility for people with learning difficulties.

She said: “We used to have dance classes in the building and I always thought it would be perfect for this type of thing.

“It was upsetting to see such a great facility just sitting there empty when I knew there was so much I could do with it.”

Diane plans to use the building, at the back of the site to provide residential facilities for respite and long term care for people with learning difficulties, particularly autism.

The main building will be open to the general public and will have a cafe and learning centre.

“People who are staying with us will be able to work in the cafe and gain employment skills,” said Diane.

“We’re hoping the centre will be a stepping stone toward independent living.”

Diane currently works for Complete Care and Enablement at Parys Mine Lodge in Greenfield Valley.

The Clocktower, on the A548 coast road, had been owned by performing arts charity The Broli Cymraeg Trust, which went into administration in June 2009.

Diane hopes to have the centre up and running by October.

Sensory rooms and a hydrotherapy pool will be among the facilities installed in the building and Diane also hopes to use it for dance and drama workshops.

She said: “Hopefully we’ll be able to use the building to do what it was intended to and it’ll be something everyone in the community can enjoy.”

Long time no see. Thank you so much for the video clip, it bought tears to my eyes. I must see if I can add it to my Legacy programme and maybe even show it to my genealogy group.

I wonder if Mary Owen is related to the the family in some way. One day I will get back into the genealogy, working full time now and not doing anything at all, boo hoo!!!
