mark smith missing from1901census

i couldnt find him on the 1901 with hannah but dad always said he was a wanderer but i found him back with the family in 1911 sorry i dont know how to bring the census up like you do but i have him with hannah and george at 231 great russell street birmingham he s 58 |

Could his death certificate not be in his full name e.g. could he be registered as Thomas Smith rather than Mark Thomas Smith. There is a tree on Ancestry which doesn't have much information about him but has his name (if it is the same man) as Mark Thomas Henry Smith. There is a death of a Thomas H. Smith registered in Aston in first quarter of 1920 with an age of 68, which would give a birth year of 1852. Just thought it might be another possibility. |

thank you vera, i had thought about that, but dad always calls him mark. but now some one else thinks the same. i think i will give it a go. i will try the one you have pointed out first |
