thank you all so much , you are quite right , my grandmother louisa smith, born march 10 1900 died 0ct 1989 , married thomas samuel reed 1918, how do i prove that sarah perry was her mother, ive spoken to surviving children and only remember frederick smith father as a docker/lighterman! spoke to tower hamlets library , no smiths resident at 57 bancroft road in 1918, my gran married twice ,on both certificates frederick named as docker / lighterman/ albert smith was witness on 1918 wedding to thomas, if i could prove sarah perry was louisa mother then all the siblings including emma and james smith would tie up, this sticking point with her mother , been trying to resolve this for months, once again thank you all so much for all the time and effort youve been great x maybe lighterman records would help, as two other family members noted as lighterman, ie richard reed and his father james reed, thomas,s father and grandfather

Following from your other thread
There is a William on 1901 Albert on 1911 The other two cannot say but they could have just changed thier names as and when. I had trouble finding one of my great Uncles who was named James after his father I found him as Frederick in the end on the 1911.
Also could Emma be Emily? sounds simular
Does your aunt know any of the spouses names as a couple marriages have been found for this family

Just one point about that address on the marriage certificate

It was seemingly very common for the bride and groom give the SAME address, but it does not mean that they both lived at that address.

It was cheaper if both lived in the parish in which they were married thatn if one lived in another parish ............. Banns would then have to be called in two parishes.

So do not please automatically assume that Louie / Louise / Louisa lived at 57 Bancroft Road

it could be where Thomas was living
