Dea/Flip/LadyK!

My sincere thanks to all of you for the effort and time you have applied to this ancestry puzzle. You have now convinced us that the father of Thomas Houghton was John and not Joseph! as Dea would say Yipeee...eee! cracked it! We have two marriage certs for Thomas and Mary Ann Turner, one shows Thomas's father as John and the other says James. (i.e. none say Joseph)
For info in full agreement re 1881 census for Thomas, he was the Indoor Farm Servant living at Cinders Lane Farm Croft as stated.
Re the Herbert Houghton you thought could be my father in law is of another generation. My wife say's, if she could send you all a bouquet she would do so with great pleasure. Also that your patience and humour second to none" Ray's of sunshine the three of you! in appreciation, fro both of us !

lambert you are very welcome. we just love the chase.
have you used the on line parish clerk for lancashire.
just google lancashire opc. there are several ways of searching.

that is where we found lots of our info as well as the censuses.
cross reference adresses etc.

there is more info for you on there but you will probably enjoy the search. if you have more queries though please come back here.

Hi Lambert,

You are very welcome (and Betty too)!

I know I 'bullied' you a little (teehee) but I just wanted you to see that we were right.

All's well that ends well - just SO pleased that you are now back on the right track with your tree!

Let us know if ever you need any more help.

Best wishes to you both,

Dea x
