Going over my Censuses I have trying to add more I've come across Two names that I can't find births for

again for Margt it has father Thomas

I've looked for marriages for Thomas and births for William & Margt but nothing hoping another pair of eyes might help

Have you checked on Scotlands People?

Yes I have Nothing shows up really for Linlithgow but wondering if they weren't born there if Thomas was their father he was a journeyman shoemaker ??
To go into all of them it would cost a fortune thinking if it could be narrowed down

Margaret Cowan is the daughter of William Cowan and Margaret Liddle

This is her marriage on Scotland's People in 1874:

Too many William Johnston's but I think it is likely that he is the son of one of the Liddle's daughters.

Thank you for your help I hadn't got Margaret liddle as a daughter so no wonder couldn't find them, so their could actually be other children to Thomas Liddle & Marion Murray I haven't got??

I did have the ones that have kindly been looked into for me, It gets a lot harder when you get back beyond the censuses and when the fathers are in the army.

Marion Murray's father Alexander was a soldier in the Fencibles all the details we have for marrion puts her Dof B as 1790 died 1873 aged 83 but we've just found a Marron Murray 1795 father Alexander a Riom soldier in the South Fencibles ??? all seems to fit apart from her age :-S

Thats interesting the Fife as I said we didn't have Margaret on our tree I know their are a lot of hidden siblings in my tree it's only when you get the later certificates after 1855 and it has their parents That has happened quite a few times

Still can't find anything on William in the 1851 census living with his grandparents

I've found out that Mary Liddell/Liddle married Archibald Johnston 31/1/1844

Looked on Scotlands people but as yet I can't find a birth for William or a death for his parents Mary & Archibald and nothing after the marriage of Mary & Archibald

Another pair of eyes could help in solving this mystery please
