Do you have James's birth cert? if not it would be an idea to purchase it rather than guess the marriage of his parents

Stuart,
I asked for Arthur to post the censuses just to find out how he had worked back, to see what was definitely true and what was speculation. (Particularly the ages of William and Sarah)
I wanted to know, if possible, the family in 1911, 1901, 1891, 1881,(that he implied he had found) and that he had birth and marriage certificates for the relevant people.
If he has not got James Sharp's 1871 birth certificate then he is missing vital information.

The 1901 census for James's family is the same except for the addition
of another daughter in about 1904 and they'd moved from Benwell to Gateshead.

PM from Arthur -

Hi
I do have the marriage of James, son of William and their address in Gateshead in 1911 ( Pine St.) which confirms James birth in Sunderland
the others in the family that I know of have been born in Northumberland and Cumberland.

I don't have the birth cert. of James or any of the others
I have to get them from the Uk and I live in NZ and it can take
2-3 weeks.
I have the marriage of William son of James to Eliza Reynolds
and that is all. thats how I know the fathers name is James.
From 1881 and after I'm ok it's prior to 1881 that I find
problems.

I do not think the 1861 census Lynski posted is your William and Sarah because that couple are still with the mother in 1871 with no children,

I cannot find them anywhere in 1861/71 you need that birth cert for James as it will tell you sarahs maiden name and there maybe an address for 1871

OK then it looks like I'll have to get hold of the Birth Cert. from the Uk
many thanks to everyone for the effort put in
