Looking to find information on Margaret Horan 1980 mother of Eileen Brice 1924 my mother-in-law. She knew little of her mothers past as she died young. The only thing Eileen knew was that she was borne in Cobh in Ireland and had connections with Liverpool. If anyone has any information I would appreciate a message.

Regards Debbie

Do you mean Margaret Horan was born in 1890 rather than 1980?

MarieCeleste

MarieCeleste Report 20 Aug 2012 17:32

What was Eileen's father's name? - if we find the marriage then we can work back.

Where and when did Margaret Brice die?

Deborah Report 8 Sep 2012 13:20

looking for relatives of Margaret Horan 1889 with Irish Mother and married to Charles John Brice of Cardiff .

MarieCeleste

MarieCeleste Report 8 Sep 2012 14:20

pms from Deborah:

"Hi MarieCeleste, yes you appear to have most of the Brice family there accept Margaret is the Mother of Eileen which i am looking for more information on. James is no connection.

Thank you for your help Debbie"

You're quite right about James, Farnham is nowhere near the rest of them in Cardiff. But, if we're not given a location to start with then it's just a case of posting whatever records may be possible connections.

also:

"How do i search the marriage record for Ireland census?

I am new to this searching thing and haven't got a clue what i am doing?

Thank you"

Deborah

Thank you all

MarieCeleste Report 8 Sep 2012 15:08

Debbie, just to clarify one thing marriage and census records are entirely different things.

The only Irish census records that survived are the 1901 and 1911, they are free to search and view on this link http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/

This thread here http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/boards/board/genealogy_chat/thread/951721 gives useful advice about Irish research.
