And a little bit of gossip too! :-D

The Sydney Morning Herald, Tuesday 17 September 1929
LITTLE v LITTLE.
In this suit John Albert Isaiah Little petitioned for the dissolution of his marriage with Henrietta Eleanor Little (formerly Barnsley) on the ground of her adultery with one Bert Owers (who was joined as co-respondent), between April 9 and May 9, 1929, at Brighton-le-Sands and other places. The marriage took place on October 20, 1921, at Newtown, according to the rites of the Church of England. His Honor granted a decree nisi, returnable in six months, in favour of petitioner, for whom Mr. Basil E. Smith appeared. There was no appearance on behalf of respondent or co-respondent.

15654/1921 LITTLE JOHN A I / BARNSLEY HENRIETTA E / NEWTOWN

John was born in 1903 in Newtown NSW.

It seems she reverted to her maiden name for her 2nd marriage to Bert:
900/1930 OWERS HERBERT A / BARNSLEY HENRIETTA E / ST PETERS

Henrietta was born in 1904 in Newtown, NSW to Robert & Ellen nee ABRAHAMS (reg 14990), one of at least 12 children (though a few died in infancy). I wonder if this is her death (back to her maiden name again!)
12320/1978 BARNSLEY HENRIETTA ELEANOR / ROBERT / ELLEN

Funny enough Barnsley was my grt grandfather's name (originally from Shropshire)! :-) My grandmother, pictured on my post, was a Barnsley!

Cherilyn

Cherilyn Report 29 Sep 2012 09:32

Looks like Henrietta was known as Ettie...

The Sydney Morning Herald, Monday 15 December 1930
BARNSLEY.—December 12, 1930, at St. George District Hospital, Kogarah, Robert, beloved husband of Ellen Barnsley, and father of Louisa, Daisy, Mollie, Walter, Ettie, James, Doris, and Hilda, aged 63 years. By request, no flowers.

PS The eldest 3 girls were born before marriage to Ellen as ABRAHAMS but all 3 re-registered in 1915 as BARNSLEY.
