Hello,

When checking relatives on tree I have noticed that since using ( the new tree) it does not define what connection to me all members are

Example John Carter is my 4* GGrandfather But it does not show Ann as my 4*GGrandmother on the old tree it told you who everyone was ,Just wondered why it does not now

Mary :-)

Hello,
Update for all who helped
It is The Lake not (father) as I first thought I had reply from Sedgley Society apparently On the 1851 Census there is a return for the Lake. This is near the church of St. James the Great where John and Jacob are both buried and there is a present day Lake St.
I have not checked 1851 census for the Lake without a name of someone who lived there I'm not sure how to I did try Jacob Carter but didn't find him there
Thank you all once again who took the time to help

Hello

I have e-mailed black country history to see if they can throw any light onto where Lakes may have been

Hello HeyJudeB4Beatles,

My Hyde family are mostly from Coseley Sedgley Tipton including myself (Coseley)
Don't know where you are but if from one of these areas maybe there's a link somewhere but there are an awful lot of Hyde's as I've discovered since I started my research :-D :-D

Dea Report 9 Nov 2012 19:39

It is not an 's' - compare it with the 's' of seventeen in the next column.
!

I would still say that it says Lake or Lakes but it does NOT say father !

Maybe he died when they were out fishing!!!
Seriously, my money would be on the informant being his son. Either way i do not think it says father.

I read it as the 'Lake' or 'Lakes' too Jan !!

Thank you both for looking I'm still not sure what it is Maybe it is some kind of Hospital but never heard of any Lake??? in this area I thought maybe the first letter could be S

I have not found another Jacob so maybe it is the son like you said I will carry on trying to decipher cert if you come up with any other ideas please let me know

Kind regards

Have had a look too, and was about to say the same - there doesn't seem to be a 'th' in the word, though it does end 'er' I think. I can see why you read it as father but I am not convinced.
There seems to be just one Jacob Carter in Dudley 1841, and I assume this is the son.
ADDED actually the last letter is 'e' probably? Lake???

Had a quick look but I really think that Jacob is not named as the 'Father'.

If you look at the other 'f's on the cert they do not match.

The first column says death took place at 'the ????' - Looks like father but isn't !

Column 7 says 'In attendance at 'the ?????' - this appears to be an address of some sort .

I will look again later but I would not worry about Jacob being the 'father' !!!
