Hello – can anyone help me trace the possible whereabouts of Catharine WALSH or any of her relatives. She was born 16 Feb 1922 in Newbridge, County Kildare, Ireland. Her father was Denis WALSH and her mother Alice CULLEN. It is believed she emigrated to Australia around 1944-47 and may have married.
Many thanks.

You need the marriage certificate for her age and her fathers details

Cisco Report 15 Mar 2013 19:22

Hello - I'm back again with new information. I've checked out the marriage to Arthur HARDY and this is not the right one. I am now getting another 8 marriages checked-out.
However, new inf has emerged and it seems highly likely that Catharine Walsh emigrated somewhere around 1945-48, possibly to Australia - and it is highly likely that she married outside the UK.
I have checked in the travel and passenger lists, but cannot find her.
Does anyone else have other sources they could check passenger lists? I'd be extremely grateful.
Also, does anyone have any ideas as to how I could research an Australian marriage.
By the way - her name is Catharine WALSH and she was born on 16 February 1922 in Newbridge, County Kildare, Ireland.
Many thanks in antipation. :-\ :-S

Many thanks Gins. Yes, I have the details on her BC - her father was Denis WALSH and her mother Alice CULLEN.
Can I ask which website you used to get the above birth inf?

I still need to know if she went to Australia.

Many thanks.

If you change your title to include 'Australian help needed', or some-such, then people with knowledge of Australia will be attracted and can help you.

Please disregard my search for Catharine Walsh linking her to the HARDY family. This was a blind alley.
Many thanks.

The names are certainly the same, so I'd say it's a good bet to say that this is Catharine's parents' marriage - and thank you SO MUCH Gins for finding a shipping record. I'll have to get on to Australia now and see if I can find Catharine, or any sign of her marriage. I'll try through this website first.
Many thanks once again.

Hi Joyce

There is a marriage for a Catherine Anne Walsh to Leslie John TAMLIN in Perth 1965. (details on 'Reverse Marriages' site)
(couldn't see any TAMLIN deaths -to present day).

The 'West Aus State Library' (on-line) has an 'Ask a Librarian' service ...they may be able to find her/them from electoral rolls.

Many thanks for this Valerie. I'll get in touch with the Librarian Service.
I don't think Catharine had a middle name, but I'll give it a try - one never knows!
