can anybody help? is there a way for somebody to check my tree as i may have gone off track i need some way to check my relatives are connected i found a relative who may be a msytery.

Somehow Thomas carr born 1791in Newburn, Northumberland does not fit parents:
father Mark Carr born 1761 Chollerton died 1842 Castlewardd, Northumberland mother Mary Robson born 1758 chollerton died 1790 Little Swinburne, Northumberland.I may have to delete a chunk of my tree if i cannot figure out where i've gone wrong

MarieCeleste Report 19 Mar 2013 20:40

First thing is where did you get the info from and who are you working back from?

I agree that there is something very wrong if the mother died the year before her son was born.

Winlaton1 Report 19 Mar 2013 20:46

info came from and here on Genesreunited working back from
James Carr born 1821 born Walbottle, Northumberland. He married Catherine Robson born 1816 Ryton, northumberland died 1852 and then Ann Bates born 1827

MarieCeleste Report 19 Mar 2013 20:54

Did you verify his father's name and occupation from his marriage certificate?

Surname First name(s) District Vol Page
Marriages Mar 1858
BATES Ann Newcastle Tyne 10b 137
CARR James Newcastle Tyne 10b 137
LAIDLER William Newcastle Tyne 10b 137
LAIDMAN Anne Newcastle Tyne 10b 137
WAUGH Peter Newcastle Tyne 10b 137

I know only too well how many Carrs there are here in the North East! Far too easy to take a wrong turn.

mike those links are no good for my problem thanks any way

HeyJudeB4Beatles Report 19 Mar 2013 21:34

I think Mike's point is that you have multiple threads about the same family (which is against site rules) ....never trust somebody else's tree.....

Winlaton1 Report 19 Mar 2013 21:36

ok thanks for that.

Winlaton1 Report 19 Mar 2013 21:38

will delete the other threads now

I can't find a James Carr - Catherine Robson marriage anywhere.
Where did you get this information from? In your very first post you mention a Mary Robson, I wonder if you got the surnames mixed up?

Winlaton1 Report 20 Mar 2013 17:42

Hmm could be,I picked it up from here Genesreunited.I may have to delete tree from James Carr up over and work from there.

Winlaton1 Report 24 Mar 2013 20:32

I hate it when you screw up your hard work lol, would love your help peeps please.

BeverleyW Report 24 Mar 2013 21:20

OK found it, they were married quite late in life then for those times (she was nearly 30 if your d.o.b. is right) And yes her name was Robson.

Marriages Mar 1845 (>99%)
BRABAN Robert Newcastle Tyne 25 306
Carr James Newcastle T 25 306 <<<<<<<<<
EARL Ann Newcastle Tyne 25 306
Hughes Ellen Newcastle Tyne 25 306
McGurk Patrick Newcastle Tyne 25 306
REAY Charlotte Percival Newcastle T. 25 306
ROBSON Catharine Newcastle Tyne 25 306 <<<<<<<<
Tuckler William Newcastle T. 25 306

BeverleyW Report 24 Mar 2013 21:23

There is a Catherine Carr death in Almwick in 1854 and two in Newcastle on Tyne in 1857.

Getting one of James's marriage certificates will give you the fathers' names

Winlaton1 Report 29 Mar 2013 20:17

thanks for the info BeverleyW
