A tree on ancestry has Rose, and her marriage and a daughter Janet Rose, 1939. You will find an obituary in 2008 for Janet Rose - just google "Janet Rose obituary 2008". I don't want to post her married name on here, but she married in 1966 - the obituary refers to her husband and 2 of her 4 daughters.

The tree also show's Rose had a half brother, but the details are private.

If you can't find the obituary let me know & I'll PM the details.

According to the ERs Percy was still at 22 Chester buildings in 1913, but had moved out by 1918 - although I don't know if the ERs were published during the war years.

I guess you've already checked the BMDs, but your father was originally registered under his mmn, and in 1921 it was amended to register it under the father's name - the BMD indexes have been manually amended accordingly. So that would indicate Percy did not go with Maud to register his birth.

Considering they were never married it's strange how her subsequent marriage is registered under the Hayhow name, with no reference to her real name. Possibly they weren't so fussy back then. ;-)

I would just like to say thank you to Flip and Reggie through Ancestry and G.R. I have made contact with Cath Moore who is Roses Grandaughter, her Uncle was Geoffrey Mason, I have also been contacted by a few of dads relatives who had trees on Ancestry but didn't know of his existence, so I will be keeping in touch with them, thanks to everyone else., Val. :
