Would you be kind enough to see what you can find on my great great grandmother and father?

I have some details on my g g g/mother - Ealiza Cormack (married name), born 1821, in Ireland, died 1931 in Bath, UK.

I've no knowledge of her husband which is what I'd really like to find details on. I only know he was a jobbing carpenter and there is some connection with India because their son Daniel was born there.

In the 1881 census Ealiza was living in Bath with her son, Daniel Cormack (french polisher) born in 1851, died 1910, born in India, so I am keen to explore the origins of his father but without a christian name, am stuck.

If it helps Daniel Cormack went on to marry Miriam Fisher in 1882 and had my grandfather, Sidney O'Connell Cormack, in 1883

Many thanks

If Daniel married in England then his marriage cert should name his dad

You could buy her death cert..............it should give her husband's first name

But.......I think you need to re-think the woman's death year

See the info you were given about that on the other thread

Hello Clare, could you check your dates - was she really 110 when she died?

Clare

Clare Report 21 Jul 2013 09:25

Apols - in the previous thread there is a death mentioned:

Elizabeth Cormack, Bath, December 1884. This would fit with the 1881 census when she was 60, dying 3 years later at 63.

I will purchase her death certificate to ascertain her father's name. Thanks

Have you found her after 1881?
Is this not her death??

Deaths Dec 1884 (>99%)
Cormack Elizabeth 63 Bath 5c 427

This is the only Cormack death in Somerset which could possibly fit.

Clare her death cert won't give her Fathers name Hopefully it will say widow of and her hubby's name,

Am wondering Ealiza maiden name was O,Connell as that was given to Daniel as part of his name

Daniels marriage cert though should give his dads name

Can anyone see this couple on the 1851?

ErikaH

They - if they were Daniel's parents - would have been in India in 1851.............

Clare

To get factual info, buy one of the certs whose GRO details you have been given.

£9.25 on line from the GRO

Reggie, I couldn't spot that couple in 1851 so was wondering if it indeed was them.

However, I was asking if anyone else could see them in case I'd missed them. If the couple from that 1848 marriage were to be found in 1851 then we could probably eliminate them as Daniel's potential parents.

Thanks for your help. I've ordered a copy of Daniel Cormack and Eliza O'Connell's marriage cert from 1848 and also their son Daniel's marriage to Miriam Fisher in 1882.
