Thank you all for your info. Helen was My fathers aunty and I am searching for family of her and her brothers. My grandfather was Walter, the oldest, and I am looking for the others,
Adam (1869), Helen(1875) and David (1878). I know about Adam and his 2 wives, Margaret Mclaren married 1896 and she died 1920 with no visible children, and Margaret Jacobsen married 26/09/1931. As Margaret was 41 when wed I do not expect any children.
Helen we know married Andrew and argylgran has found a death notice for her.
David married Mary Galbraith Turner 10/09/1909 in Blythswood Glasgow. I have not yet checked the 1911 census for these two.
All of the above happened in the Glasgow area and I have not checked for anything outside Scotland.
Once again with many thanks Walter

I don't see David & Mary in Scotland in 1911.
There are two David Shearers of the right age in Glasgow, but neither is with a second person with forename Mary.
The only David Shearer with second person Mary in the whole of Scotland is one a couple of years younger, living in Orkney.

I suppose it's possible Mary wasn't at home on the night of the census.

These are the two results in Glasgow:

1911 SHEARER DAVID M 33 GOVANHILL GLASGOW CITY/LANARK 644/16 020/00 023

1911 SHEARER DAVID M 32 CALTON (GLASGOW) GLASGOW CITY/LANARK 644/03 039/00 008

I don't see them in the census for the rest of the UK, and nothing definite in overseas records so far. They are common names, unfortunately.

The only Mary Shearer with other surname Taylor who died in Scotland was born in 1904, so obviously not her.

One of the many possibles is this one. Probably a complete red herring.
This Mary Shearer is travelling with children John (17), Archibald (15), Alfred (13), Margaret (10) and Hugh (4). Their home address is 43 Gordon Street, Govan.
They're travelling 3rd class, and intending Canada to be their permanent residence.
Their passage was paid by the Salvation Army (per the Canadian Passenger List for the same voyage).

But without investigating the children's birth certs, there's no way of telling if they could be the right family or not, among the many other possibilities.
