purchasing her birth cert is the best way

Not sure why she isn't on the 1911. Do you have the MC to see who she names as her father?
May be her mother was living with someone other than a Parker, or it might be that Helen was illigitimate and Parker was also her mother's maiden name. ?

Birth registered in 1908.
Births Mar 1908 (>99%)
Parker Helen Louisa Bristol 6a 130

I can't see a Helen L Parker, or even a Helen L anything recorded in 1908 here

Thanks for the replies so far guys, was hoping to avoid the MC route but may have to. A puzzler. :-(

If you are confident that the birth reg is correct, go for that one.

Added - don't rush off to the gro site just yet - Someone with a different way of looking at things may be able to find census later today.

Graham

Why do you think that the birth matches the marriage?

Detective

GlosBMD does not include Bristol

Jacqueline

Hi Jacqueline, I'm doing for a friend and she is certain of the birth date and the marriage to AEL

The death details you have are correct. I did have that and should have included sorry.

My mistake - I was going by the freebmd description of the Bristol reg district.

Bristol was in Glos in those days, but the records aren't held at Gloucester, and haven't been accessed by the volunteers who maintain the Glos site

I now understand there are siblings

Martha Selina Parker Q1 1906 BRISTOL 6a 145 stayed single
Rosina M Parker q3 BRISTOL 1911, married Arthur Probert, q2 1937, BRISTOL 6a 71, died October 1987 Weston Super Mare

MSP also I cannot see on census :-(

Deleted last post as confused myself. Meant to say can't find a marriage between a Davey and a Parker during suitable timeline

A possible?

MarieCeleste Report 16 Aug 2014 11:16

This is the 1911 that matches that baptism so not sure about it, as siblings don't match:

1911 England, Wales & Scotland Census
9 Whitby Road Brislington Bristol, Bristol, Gloucestershire, England

Household Members First name(s) Last name Relationship Marital condition Gender Age Birth year Occupation Birth place

William Parker Head Married Male 38 1873 Dock Labourer Chestterton Place Bristol Glos
Rose Parker Wife Married Female 38 1873 - Anne St Bath Rd Bristol Som
Ida Parker Daughter - Female 14 1897 Helping Her Mother At Home Anne St Totterdown Som
William Parker Jun Son - Male 6 1905 School Sandhurst Rd Brislington Som
Martha Parker Daughter - Female 5 1906 School Sandhurst Rd Brislington Som
Doris Parker Daughter - Female 3 1908 - Bath Rd Totterdown Som

Married 14 years, 8 children born and just the 4 listed still alive

ADDED: This census is under Knowle registration district which makes me think it's the correct one for that baptism.

So if Rosina Mary Parker's mother was Davey then that family above in 1911 is correct:

England, Select Marriages, 1538–1973

Name: William Albert Lionell Parker
Gender: Male
Age: 24
Birth Date: 1872
Marriage Date: 26 Oct 1896
Marriage Place: Bristol, Gloucester, England
Father: William Richard Parker
Spouse: Rose Davey <<<<
FHL Film Number: 1565939
Reference ID: p 44 n 87

His middle names obtained from the baptism of daughter Ida who is on the 1911:

England, Select Bristol Parish Registers, 1538-1900
Name: Ida Rose Parker
Baptism Date: 15 Oct 1898
Baptism Place: Knowle, Holy Nativity, Somersetshire, England
Father: William Albert Lionel Parker
Mother: Rose Parker
FHL Film Number: 4183137

I'm wondering if the Doris born 1908 is a nickname for Helen Louisa?

I can find no corresponding birth for a Doris - there is a Doris Irene born Bristol 1908 but I've found her on the 1911 with parents George and Laura.

Thank you Marie that looks very promising, not sure why Helen Louisa is not mentioned but all else looks spot on. Really appreciate your send everyone else's input.

Thank you kindly.
