Thanks patchem, getting a bit confused now but great for all the different info from everyone :-)

It is very confusing, which is why you need to sit back and work your way through it.
Write it down or print it out.

It would also be best to get a few certificates to confirm that what we have found are the correct people.

looking at this thread from a reference in one of Michelle's many other threads about the same family ...

patchem

your post at 11 Sep 2014 06:47 on page 2

not only have you posted the registration details of several living people

but you have posted what they may consider to be rather intimate details of their and their parents personal lives

yes, this info is available on line for people who take the steps you did (and I did when looking at another of the threads but certainly did not post publicly) ... but it isn't just sitting there for anyone who googles their name

now that it has served its purpose perhaps you would delete all the details for the people born in the 1950s

for info re other threads ...

Michelle ... please stop ignoring the requests that you not keep starting new threads about this family ... posting a new thread for every person every time you find something out just is not fair to anyone

I am new to the site and am still finding my way , didn't realise you appear to be offended at me repeating threads , I am just trying to find information on possible relatives ....
I have paid my subscription so surely that entitles me to create posts ?

Michelle, no one expects you to be used to the site yet , but if you do post more than one thread on the same family it means that people trying to help you will be duplicating the searches that they may be making. I am sure you can see how frustrating it is for someone to do their best to help on one thread( eg me finding the immigration record) only to find that the same info has already been found and posted.

keeping it all together on one thread helps us to help you

:-)

Thanks I have just deleted some threads and edited another one linking names together

'didn't realise you appear to be offended at me repeating threads'

I don't appear to be 'offended' because I am not offended, that just makes no sense

people had repeatedly pointed out that you were confusing matters and that people were spending wasted time searching for things that were already known, because of multiple requests about family members with much information in common and already known

there really is lots of info available about this and other tips, starting with the post by GenesReunited itself at the top of this board:

*PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING*
http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/boards/board/ancestors/thread/1267972
'Please don't post about the same person or family twice as this can make extra work for the volunteer helpers.'

so it really doesn't behoove anyone to get offended when others ask them to abide by that :-)

your subscription doesn't actually 'entitle' you to the assistance of other paying members which is what you certainly seem to be asking for ... they/we do that on their own time and 'dime'

Sorry, but that simply isn't true, Michelle

You were given the birth details of a possible sister on here in September, having previously been advised to look for the details yourself, and not apparently having done so

As you have now started yet another thread, purporting to know virtually nothing about these people, I will give no further assistance
