PH- aren't your eyeballs bleeding yet?!

The Thomas above convicted at Wiltshire Assizes 1836 got transportation for life for stealing a mare and a gelding at Langley Burrell. He was caught in 1885 and committed to Fisherton Gaol before being sentenced. There's a few small newspaper articles- but no other information given.

PricklyHolly

PricklyHolly Report 23 Mar 2015 18:36

I have just been looking at that Newspaper article.

I went up and down the columns at least three times and couldn't find the article about Thomas Mintern.

So yes..........I think my eyes are bleeding!! :-S :-D

I was confused because on the 1841 census, Elizabeth has 5 children.

I did notice though that there was a 6 years age gap between John and Maria.

There is a baptism for Maria.......1835

So one can assume that the younger children were not the children of Thomas.

I think I've got that right!

Gritty Report 24 Mar 2015 14:36

PH- I suspect the baptism in 1840 for Mary Anne is correct. There is no original to view if it really gives the year of birth as 1840.

I did see this (FMP)- which is related as it's the same date as Mary Anne's, but also says born in 1840:
