Helen Report 23 Nov 2005 20:01

Hello Gerry, Could you help me with any Richards in Madeley & Rushbury please. I'm interested in a Caroline Richards, aged approx 15-20 and Ellen Richards, who is app 1 - both should be in Madeley. These 2 aren't necessarily part of the same family, unfortunately. I know that Caroline's father is called John. Caroline was born in Rushbury, Shrops, which is where Ellen was in 1851, but Ellen was born in Madeley. In 1851 Ellen is with John & Diana Richards, but Diana is too old to be mother of either Ellen or Caroline! - maybe grandparents. Thank you Helen

Alan The 1841 Census was not that refined......... the last column should say born In county or out of county and that is all ..... so usually shows Y or N
