* Margaret in Lancashire Drysdale* Margaret, I have just gone to have a look for you ... but I'm staggered ... Glossop is covered by 736 pages ... so it will take a while. All I can say is that I will have a look over the next few days to a week, in between other lookups. I will get in touch with you direct, as soon as I have a result. Please bear with me. I WILL look through all of Glossop for you, it may take some time though. Elaine :-)

Thanks Elaine, I have sent you an e-mail via GR, but if it is too big a job, I quite understand if you haven't the time to trawl through all those pages!! Amazing, I didn't realise how big an area Glossop was population wise. Many thanks for looking, Margaret

Thanks very much for taking the time looking for my Higginbottom's and Bennett's. I don't think the Bennett's you have found are my family that I was looking for. Thanks once again Sue

* Kathryn Ewers* Hi Kathryn, I'm afraid the Derbyshire disc's don't cover Macclesfield ... last I knew Macclesfield is in Cheshire BUT I'm not sure what the boundaries were back then. Elaine :-)

Elaine Thank you so much for looking up Sarah Harrison. Looks like it could be the younger one. I'll have to send hubby to Derby to further investigate. (LOL) This womans been elusive for years, only just managed to get her death cert last week after years of looking. She's on the 1871 and 1881, dead by the 1891. Her and 2x great grandad dont seem to have got married, this she was born in outer space. Margaret

*Sheila Swanson* Is this your family in 1871 by any chance ? Ancestry entry: Richard White 52 Cowley; Dronfield, Derbyshire, England Head Dronfield Derbyshire Mary White 55 Dronfield, Derbyshire, England Wife Dronfield Derbyshire Emily Mary White 27 Dronfield, Derbyshire, England Daughter Dronfield Derbyshire George White 23 Taddington, Derbyshire, England Son Dronfield Derbyshire Louisa White 21 Dronfield, Derbyshire, England Daughter Dronfield Derbyshire Mary White 18 Dronfield, Derbyshire, England Daughter Dronfield Derbyshire I will start searching Derbyshire '41 BUT it could take a while ...Dronfield isn't small. !! It DOES look as if they will be here in Derbyshire, Dronfield - so please be patient. Elaine :-) **UPDATE** There are 577 pages covering Dronfield. I have searched the first 122. So far NO Richard White. It has just dawned on me that if and when you find the marriage, you will no doubt ask me to find Mary's family, which will mean me trawling the 577 pages again. Can you find the marriage please and let me know her Maiden Name OR it will be on one of the childrens birth cert .. so I can search both families together by any chance?

Elaine, Thank you very much for the offer. Could you please take a look for my DOUGE family which could also be listed as DOUDGE/DOGE/DODGE Philip Douge head c1808 Foremark Derby (Elizabeth a possible for wife's name) Frederick Douge, son, c1829 Shottlegate Derby Philip Douge, son, c1833 Shottlegate Derby Thomas Douge, son, c1836 Shottlegate Derby Henry Douge, son, c1837 Shottlegate Derby Occasionally the sons' places of birth have been recorded on other documents as Hazlewood or Duffield. I think the hamlet of Shottlegate which is only one street as far as I can make out falls under Duffield. Many thanks in advance, Emma x
