Poolie Girl Report 29 Sep 2004 07:25

Hi Sally, I'm afraid I don't have a any forenames at the moment. Frances Tilley of Broughton married in 1838. I am assuming she had siblings, and hoping a male or two remained in Broughton to raise their own families. In 1901, I could find only one household in Broughton, Mary TILLEY Widowed age about 55 with two teenage Tilleys. I hoped there were only a couple of families so I could check their birth details which I could compare with Frances. I am waiting for her marriage cert to find her father's name. Best wishes Beth :)

Dear Sally. A very big thank you for finding my Kinna's, that was one very big wall you have broken down for me. How you found them on the 1901 I don't know, try as I might I could only find my grandfather Frederick Kinna. You are very kind in all the help you are giving everyone, and I am certainly indebted to you. Thanks again. Valerie

HI Sally Yes, that Slaughter family that you saw on the 1851 census is the one I have been looking at - in 1861 Mary is widowed so I was just wondering if she was still alive in 1871. Thank you for looking! Kind regards Jane

Sally, Can you try and find a Robert Gladstone born 1842 probably in Spittal or Berwick Northumberland. In 1866 he married an Ann Alder. At this time he was living in Church Street Berwick. I am also trying to identify his father also called Robert who was a cattle dealer in 1866 also from this area. Many thanks. Paul

Hello Thankyou for your offer. I wonder if you would be so kind as to look for MING family mambers in 1871 and 1891 in Buckinghamshire or London. I hope there are not too many. In particular I am interested in any William Ming or John Ming, but anything would be nice. Please let me know if this is too much and I'll narrow it down Very best wishes Jane

Hello Sally, You've very kindly looked up some of my awkward relations in the past. I'm hoping you could find one more for me, if it's not too much trouble. On the 1881 census I have William Elliot as follows: William ELLIOTT Head M Male 46 Epping, Essex, England Hay Dealer & Farmer (16 Acres) Employs 1 Man Mary A. ELLIOTT Wife M Female 42 Shelley, Essex, England John W. ELLIOTT Son Male 19 Shelley, Essex, England General Lab Emily ELLIOTT Daur Female 14 Fyfield, Essex, England Scholar Edith ELLIOTT Daur Female 12 Fyfield, Essex, England Scholar Alice ELLIOTT Daur Female 9 Fyfield, Essex, England Scholar Dwelling Pickerills Census Place Fyfield, Essex, England I'm hoping you could find him and the family on the 1871 Essex census. I would guess that the family are in Fyfield, given the younger children's birthplace. Many thanks, Hannah

Sally, Re your reply to me re Robert Gladstone on 30th. Was the first part of your message taken from the 1871 Census? Can you give me the number of the house in Church St? Could the age of Robert have been 30 rather than 36 (You said print was bad). Thanks v. much. Paul

Hi Sally, I was wondering if I could ask you to do another lookup for me? I have a huge hole which I am only going to be able to start to fill with census info. The person I know most about is Lucy Maria (Sherley) Rose who would have been aged about 14 and was born in Hampton Wick, Middlesex. Her brother is Tom (Sherley/Shirley) Rose who would have been aged about 10 and was born in Hampton, Middlesex. The father is Richard Rose (no other info) and the mother is Betsey, although I severely doubt that is her official name as I cannot find any marriage details that match. I also suspect there will be other children which I am hoping the census info. may help me with. I am expecting the family to be living in either Middlesex or Surrey, but can give no other details. Is this enough for you to have a look for me? Thank you, Sharon
