Tracy I don't think she had one. Her sister's name was Elizabeth Kay when she married my g grandfather, then on her death he married a Jane Kay. I don't know whether she lived alone in 1891 or with a man. Pauline

Pauline, What was the g grandfather's name? As she might've adopted his name by then or something to pinpoint her, as I cant find a Jane Kay b. Preston.. Sam, I think West Ham was under Essex at the time as I've looked at their marriage and it was under Essex, so 1901 doesnt cover Essex yet, Sorry! T

Tracy Re Jane Kay None of the ones you list seem to be my Jane Kay, their ages do not match. Her sister didn't die until 1895 so she didn't have my g.grandfathers name in 1891. She could however, have been living with the man of her first child William. Maybe she was using his name. William was 15 in 1901, so 5 in 1891. Thank you for the effort you are putting into this for me, but understand if you don't come up with anything. I'm in my lunch break, if you have anymore questions I will not be able to answer until tonight. Many thanks Pauline

Probably with his father David Griffin a labourer or his wife to be Alice Amy Nottage. Tracy Jane Kay and children. Thats them. In 1881 my g. grandfather and his mother were living with James Bamber. So they all seem to be a bit close!!???? Thank you very much Pauline
