Hi Chris, could you help me out ? I am looking for James Hart and his son William Hart. I dont know much about James but I do know that William would have been 7 or 8 years old in 1871. William was born and lived in Leeds and it`s possible that James was born in Ireland. I`m not sure which part of Leeds they lived in but it could be the Quarry Hill or Bank area, the only address I have for them is Plane Street in 1880. If you could give me any info on this family I would be very grateful. Also, if it`s not too much hassle, could you look for Elizabeth Leonard age 5 or 6 in 1871 living in Leeds. Again I dont know too much about her though she lived in Back Lane in 1880 so she may have been at this address in 1871. Any info would be welcome. Kind regards. Martin.

Hi Donna I've had a look in the Northowram area and I'm affraid I couldn't find John and Mary Hannah Firth Sorry Chris

Donna

Donna Report 7 Dec 2003 15:32

Hi Chris, Thanks for looking anyway. I know that Mary Hannah Firth gave birth to Thomas Moore Firth at 5, Sanderson Street, Northowram in September 1971. On his birth cert there is no mention of his father although his mum (nee Taylor) was married to John Firth. I was hoping to find Mary & John both together during the census and, therefore, verify him as the father. Afterall, Thomas was given his name. Regards, Donna.

A message for Chris It would be wonderful if you could find a William Hanton for me. In 1871 he would be 19 and born Norwich. He is in Rotherham in 1881 but need details of his family before this time.I am not sure where in Yorkshire he might be. If anybody has the 1861 census for Yorkshire I also need info from that census as well on same person. A happy Christmas to You and thanks. Ann

Hi Chris, please could I add another 1871 request? Barker, Amelia(sometimes Emily) b 1801-5 in Middlesex, living in the Duke St/Bard St area of Sheffield (which is just west of Commercial st, n of Sheaf st). I would like to know birthplace & whether her Husband George is still alive & whether any children are with her. Sheffield is a large area, and I understand this may not be possible. For ANN WIGHTMORE, you can buy the index for a particular surname on the 1861 Sheff&Rotherham census cheaply from Sheffield FHS online. I have several but not for "H" unfortunately. Merry Christmas to all, Marian
