Hi Jane,

Thanks again - could you help me again please?

Can you look up Henry W Richardson b1847 Yeovil and Prudence Richardson (wife) b1849 Penkhull on the 1881 census? I'm trying to track them down to see where they were then and whether they were married then.
Thanks so much
Sam

bit difficult to find either of them on census' without ages etc, and both with common names !!

Jane

update

have checked the marriage indexes from 1905 -1911 and there is no Samuel Ward marriage in Middlesboro'.......... so is there a possibilty that they married somewhere else?

Hi Jane,

That does look like him in the 1851, but that is not him in the 1841 there were two Robert Curd's born in Yalding in 1824 you happen to have found the other one. lol I am now thinking that my Robert's father may have been sent to Australia as a convict and that Barbara may have remarried????!!!
There was a Richard Curd b ca 1785 sent to Australia in 1830 .... mmmmmm
If you are feeling generous could you try Barbara in the 1851 with no last name.... pretty please.

anyway thanks a million for your help it is hugely appreciated.

Hi Jane,

I am trying to find Annie Chalk, b..c. 1868, Lockerley, hampshire, in either the 1871, or 1881 census. I can find her from 1891 onwards but have no record of her any earlier than this. She married George Lane (again I can find no record of this) but I don't know who her parents/brother/sisters were. Any help appreciated.
Many thanks, Michelle

Jane

Jane Report 20 Sep 2007 23:09

Hi Michelle

not sure if Lockerley is under registration of Southampton or Salisbury.......

but found this.....

Births Jun 1868
-----------------------

CHALK Annie Southampton 2c 15

did you see this family 2 doors away from George & Annie in 1901??

Alice Chalk abt 1857 Redlynch, Wiltshire, England Daughter Redlynch Wiltshire
Ann Chalk abt 1834 Redlynch, Wiltshire, England Wife Redlynch Wiltshire
George Chalk abt 1834 Redlynch, Wiltshire, England Head Redlynch Wiltshire

although have traced this family back to 1861 and their daughter Ann was born 1860, in Wiltshire, not Hampshire either !!!

its a mystery isn't it?????

i cant even find her in 1891 with George !!!

Hi Jane,
Can you help trace an Elizabeth Gallon, nee Murdoch,in the 1841 and 1851 censuses most likely in Elgin parish,Morayshire,Scotland please. She was widowed by 1841 and died in 1854 aged 78 so born c.1776.Her children were born on a farm called Howe of Incharnock,Pluscarden,Elgin so I suppose she might still be there with one of them after losing her husband. Many thanks,
Joan.

Graham Report 21 Sep 2007 15:48

Thanks Jane, I know he was born in either liverpool or Dublin. If he's not in the liverpool records he must have been born in dublin. Do you have records for Dublin? I don't know his parents names but he married a Mary Kennedy and lived in Dublin.
Many Thanks
Graham
