Has anyone else had the situation of being automatically signed out when closing down PC?

I have not been on much other the last few days as we have had visitors but each time I do go into GR I have been signed out - something I never do myself, 'favourites' is set to go straight into my threads page (when did that get renamed - only just noticed?)

Yes it happened to me too and I couldn't remember my log in details either. Stangely enough I went in through internet explore instead of firefox and got straight in -- weird

No. it is happening to me and I am on Internet Explorer. It is only on GR that this happens so must be something to do with them

I think it is due to a patch to make the emoticons work better. Phil Moir the developer is answering threads on the suggestion board about them and asks the question is anyone still having problems viewing them

wrote to Genes about this problem, their answer was:

."...sounds like the problem is that your computer has 'cached' the last page you looked at and is not recognising a newer version of this website page. You simply need to clear your browsing history and then sign back into the site again"

Haven't tried it yet.

With respect "...sounds like the problem is that your computer has 'cached' the last page you looked at and is not recognising a newer version of this website page. You simply need to clear your browsing history and then sign back into the site again"

- not so on this occasion as I tried from my favourites and from searching for a newer version. It is the fault of genes reunited's site.

It has happened to me this week on all the sites I do not normally log out of which are FMP.Ancestry and facebook and of course GR.

I put it down to cancelling Norton and taking up a free anti virus thingy with my sevice provider??

I too had problems, but it then went right by itself yesterday.

I don't think it is anything to do with our computors, more a case of genes messing about again.
