On the marriage cert it shows Johns Dad AS John Dunne Sailor.

Just some bits of facts:

1891 census John is called Dumne and is living in Bury. He has a cousin Joseph Dunne 1848 travelling botanist.

There is a John Dunn on 1861 census at 18 Hygeia St aged 6 parents John and Mary.
My great gran was born at 14 Manor St Little Bolton in 1883 and the Pinks are on the 1881 census at this address which give me the link to the Pinks in the first place.

Please Could someone look up the death of Mary Ann Dunn Born 1819 and died 1869 JAN BOLTON. I am considering sending for the death cert to see if it gives her maiden name.

It won't.

Maiden names of married women were not added to certs until 1969

What it will tell you is the name of her husband.....IF she was married

Thanks Reggie. I have found James Dunn 1836 on 1871 census in Everton - born Liverpool.---on Family Search.
Please could you let me know his occupation and address on that. I may have to look at him to see if his Dad James and my John were brothers.
