At the moment, you don't actually know that the man who married in 1945 was the person you are researching.

I've just checked on fmyp could only find 2 with Leslie G, a few with Leslie George.. think the only way forward is for me to get the m. cert. (I'm really more hoping that Leslie Gordon Lewis and his wife had a child/children).

Yes I have seen the census but there were other Leslie G Lewis's born who that marriage could belong to...this one even?

Leslie Gordon also has another middle initial of C

There are a few Leslie G's that would fit with that marriage

If you do not know when they died...could they have left the country as it was just after the war?

You could buy the 1951 birth cert.............see what info it holds

Thanks for this info. this one is possibly the most likely one, and at 44 it's also possible she had a daughter, (my mum had me at 43), not sure where I go from here?

Are you certain that Bragg was Winifred's maiden name?

There were 15 births registered in 1951 with MMN Unknown - most of these the surname was also unknown. There were two which had later corrections (these would appear to have been wrongly registered - the second Christian actually being the Surname.
