Nellie123...

This may well be William Morrison....

A Co.2nd battalion Belfast Brigade.( Ardoyne and Bone)

*Morrison, W. Parkview Street;

So I would think your husbands father would be aware of the family history , the same address was also listed for David (RIP) Morrison....

From news reports that Maureen posted probably the Irish Independent was a near as accurate relating to the Murder...certainly the second paragragh.

Nellie123...

it appears Hannah Morrison sister of William didn't marry. She was still living 27 Mayfair St. as late as 1943 but I don't see her there in 1951.

William and Hannah continued to live at Parkview St. but he is not listed after 1932 only Hannah.. she was still there in 1951.

There was a John Morrison (labourer) at no.48 Parkview St. in 1943 but no 48 does not appear on later listing.

Nellie123.
GlasgowLass posted details on her post of 20.7.( 20.52) you would probably be able to locate William's death through a process of elimination starting at 1931/32 using the Groni site.
Hannah was still at Parkview in the 50s maybe your husband can recall if she was still alive when the family went over to Yorkshire in the late 50's.
I imagine the family would have been buried in Milltown Cemetery but those records are not on line..once you confirm dates you could contact Milltown Cemetery and see if they can locate the grave....

There is this website -

But you'd have to become a member to view the Milltown Cemetery records.

my husband say,s he can remember visiting his granny Hannah and thinks he was about 6/7 the last time he saw her but i cant find anything matching his date which would be about 1956/57 but i will keep trying Nellie

GlasgowLass Report 26 Jul 2016 18:17

Nellie,
The 1953 death is the only record that I can see which would fit

The next death on Groni for anyone called Hannah Morrison is 1964 but this lady was only 62yrs old ( b1902) and her death was registered in Larne.

There are no more deaths in NI for this name before 1997

Edit :
My mother in law could clearly recall her own grandmother.
I have no doubt about my MIL's memory
She too "thought" she was about 6 or 7 when she last visited her granny..
My mother in law was just 3yrs old when her granny died!
