Glen In Tinsel Knickers Report 29 Jul 2006 13:03

Just as a suggestion to the problem re the certs Either ring the GRO (if the certs were GRO issued) or ring the local Register office and enquire what the register says. Either way when you buy a cert it's not much use if you can't read the details on it,isn't the reason for the cert to learn from the contents? Armed with dates, places and names i would be tempted to enquire with the relevant local office to see if they could help. Glen

Elizabeth Report 29 Jul 2006 13:06

Fuzzy, I had discounted this one, as I wasn't convinced that the maiden name was mills, also by this time, they had 3 children. Liz

Liz, One of my lot have four children before they married eleven years after the first child was born, so dont let that put you off. I agree with dea though last letter looks like a r on both Fuzzy x

have searched the freebmd for every marriage in kent between a william walter and an ann, nothing that looks likely. More I look more I think it is mills, but I am sure a lot of that is wishful thinking on my part for you Liz.......hate this when this happens, it has happened to me and even the GRO couldn't make head nor tail of it not the local RO!! Dea, Glad it is not just me am goggled eyed and shoulders are sore, have tried everything I can think of now. Will stop for now and check back in later have to go for coffee at friends house.....keep fingers crossed for you, and will try again tommorow, I hate giving up!! after the 1871 census they seem to disappear, think i found them in 1891, but wifes age was 7 years out, all other factors correct though including williams profession, mind area teeming with farm labourers!!
