Jenny- will have look...just because it is you!! have made a start - below- but leave it with me until tommorow please (been away-too tired now) note for me: Annie Sarah married William George Felton Dec 1891 (N'pton). I am trying to get back on the Felton side. I have found a marriage of William Felton to Sarah Ann Eales, June 1872 - BUT I don't know if these are the parents of William And I still can't find the Feltons on any census records. Also, Sarah Ann married her 2nd husband James Travell June 1878, so on 1881 census William is known as Travell, he then picks up his birth name of Felton when he marries in Dec 1891. So, I know his mother is Sarah Ann - but was her maiden name Eales? Ok, I could confirm that by getting William George birth cert but, how do I find William's birth (father of William George) as he doesn't appear anywhere in Northampton records and there are several listed on Ancestry from different parts of he country. --------------------------------------------------------- Jenny -actually they married in Wellingborough Felton, William George 1891 December Marriages Wellingborough Bedfordshire Northamptonshire Jeffcoat, Annie Sarah 1891 December Marriages Wellingborough Bedfordshire Northamptonshire ----------------------------------------------------- Now i will look at 1901 census, and see if i can find them together to get and idea where he was born JENNY-NOT FINISHED YET (NOT STARTED REALLY) LEAVE IT WITH ME PLEASE!!

Hello Jesse, Please would you be so kind as to look in 1861 data. The family I am interested in is called, “Kay”. My Great Grandfather on my mother’s side was called Thomas Kay. Thomas Kay married Clara Hardcastle on 1st February 1885 at St Peters, Hunslet (District of Leeds). This father was named as Noah [deceased] (not the one with the arc). In the 1871 Census I have come across a family, which could be the family I am searching for. At the time of the wedding Thomas was 23 and Clara was 21. On the 1871 census Thomas was only eight years old and it looks like Noah was already dead. The 1871 census follows. 1871 census Address: Scholey Close/Court, Holbeck (District of Leeds) Hannah Kay: 48 Born Hutton Lee, Hull (?), Yorkshire. Head, Widow, Charwomen. Ann Elizabeth ? Kay: 19 Born Hunslet, Yorkshire. Daughter, Cleaner in flour mill. James Kay: 17 Born Featherstone nr Leeds, Yorkshire. Son, Potter/Porter. George Kay: 11 Born Hunslet, Yorkshire, Son Thomas Kay: 08 Born Hunslet. What I would like to confirm is that I have the right family and that Noah was the father and alive in 1861. Thank you for any help you can offer. Kind regards, Christopher.

Thank you Jesse for the above information. Like every thing its a long shot what can be found. I have just had a look at the Hutton Rudby address and that is in North Yorkshire. Also I have had another thought on the address I listed for Hannah. I think her birth town would be Hutton le Hole in North Yorks, not in Hull. I was hoping at least Hannah kay and her family up to George Kay would be found in the 1861 census for Leeds and that her husband's details would also be confirmed. He must have been alive up to 1863 when Thomas was born. Thanks for your help Jesse, its very much appreaciated. Regards Christopher

Debbie, your request needs to be here! 1861 census for JOSEPH BIRKS born around 1850, somewhere in Staffordshire In the 1881 census he is living on Wath on Dearne with his mother Betsy. He is a widower. I know he married my X2 great Grannie in Oct 1881 and it states that his father was called JAMES BIRKS. I presume that James was still alive then as it does not state he was deceased but on the 1881 census it says that Betsy was a widow. I am totally confused. I have a feeling they were travellers, they don't seem to like to stay in one place for too long. He eventually ended up in Darlington. I have found him on the 1891 and 1901 census but just can't find him 1861 or 1871. -The 1881 for my ref Betsy Birks abt 1823 NK, Worcestershire, England Head St Helens St, Wath On Dearne, Yorkshire, England Betsy F. Hi Jess, I am trying to find the death of Eliza Jackson. I have her with husband William and daughter Martha in 1871. In 1881 I can find who I think is William living next door to Martha who is now married and called Davies. William has another wife, Jane, and a son James (12) whom there is no mention of in 1871. The last address for Eliza in 1871 is 3 Froggats Court, Stockport, Cheshire. The address for William in 1881 is 18 barlow Court Stockport. Eliza's death should be between 1871 and 1881. I have looked on Ancestry and so far can't find any registration of her death, neither can I find her in 1881 census. Thanks Gloria
